Nice review. Confirms the reason I purchased one in 2017 which has 55bhp . The latest spec has 65bhp . Modifications I’ve done are change the seat to a bench seat and mirrors change to bar end . The original mirrors were useless and couldn’t see past my shoulders. Changing the seat means I sit on it rather than in it .It changed the feel of the way the bike handled .
@NorthwoodsNomad

Did you replace the seat with the triumph bench seat or another brand ? Was the handling feel for the better ?
@andrewr6425

@@NorthwoodsNomad I did change it for a Triumph bench seat and for me it definitely improved the way handled and the way the bike feels . I’m 6ft with long legs and I felt I was crunched up with the original seat . I personally think it’s a worthwhile modification.

I have the first generation ST (2016) and agree more or less with everything you said except about the mirrors. Being a small bloke, i don't have any problems with rear view, smaller shoulders i suppose. The seat is also ideal for me, although as you said it does get a bit uncomfortable after about 2-3 hours so perhaps size doesn't make any difference in that respect. Overall, i think it's a great bike and it suits me down to the ground.

If it's the style of bike someone wants then the real question is "Is this worth the extra cost over a Royal Enfield Interceptor?". I'm sure it's better than the RE but it's notably more expensive.

That is a very good question, I know many have also had the same thoughts. I guess you need to look at both bikes and see how it sits for you. I will try to get on some RE bikes next year.

My first of your reviews as I'm thinking of buying this bike after a 25 year lay off! Best review out there on this bike. I really like the detailed close up of the controls and varied photography angles. Would you say the Fox adjustable rear shocks are a worthwhile upgrade and bar end mirrors ?

I have a 2005 t100, and so many times I wish I had the upswept pipes. With no center stand i bought a rear wheel stand, but wasn't specific for Triumph with straight pipes. So it won't fit between the mufflers and axle bolt swing arm. 😤. Never fails. I absolutely love the bike, but Triumph sure failed not making a center stand standard. Thanks for the ride.

Watching this again. I don't think triumph makes anything bigger, frame wise. Maybe with a different seat sit position. Like the bobber or maybe the sport bike, forgot the name. But obviously you're in the total sport riding position. But I believe the T120 is even a bit smaller frame wise. Good luck. Ride safe.

Hi bud watching this i want some advice. I am looking for a good comfortable bike that i can take a pillion in but absorbs bumps and potholes very well as i have had two spine surgeries and pot holes and hard suspension hurt a lot!! I am looking at XSR 700 with softer suspension also looking at T120 and the new Suzuki 800 RE V Strom. I like retro hence the T120 and XSR but would buy an Adventure bike but not too high. Do you have any good advice or suggestions? Obviously i dont want a bike too heavy as with my back its hard to move around the garage etc. Thats why i looked at XSR as its light?
@spicy110
@spicy110 4 ай бұрын
I think an adventure bike is the way to go as you get longer travel suspension also with an upright seating position your spine is better lined up to absorb shocks and give you more room with a pillion. I may have mentioned it in the video but I have back issues, ruptured disc/discs, now stable thankfully as long as I am careful. Adventure bikes have always been the best for that. You did not mention how tall you are but if the height of the bike is an issue nearly all the models can be lowered and or have cut-out seats and so on. The best bet I can suggestion is to go to a dealer and sit on a couple and look into the lowering option if it is an issue. Bikes like the D800 RE, Triumph Tiger 900 and so on are what I would be looking at not the 1000-1200s as they tend to be a bit bigger. I hope that helps!

@@spicy110 Hi buddy thanks for your reply. I am 5ft 10 inches and weigh around 85-90 kg. I have severe spinal issues having a 10 hour surgery in 2013 and another 2 years ago screes and rods and a whole world of pain. I bought an ADV 350 thinking it would be a good compromise. Its very light to move which is good. However, it lacks the power and that bit if fun despite me not been a fast rider i still like a bit if adrenaline!! Also its ok with my partner on the back but it lacks power a little and i can feel her weight unbalancing it a little as its a small bike. Also the suspension is hard and every bump sends terrible pain through my lower back. I also find the position not that comfortable. I think for people without back issues it would be comfortable but the feet up on boards slightly forward seems to hurt my back and put pressure on my lower back topped with hard seat and suspension and its not great . 😫 I know the XSR 700 is reported to be soft and not great at handling and i sat on one and it was very soft suspension which i am sure upsets fast handling. However, i am not bothered about being Michael Dunlop on the corners so thought would this be better for me. I dont like bikes too tall as i feel better if i can put both feet firmly down when stopping. I have always looked at Triumph Tiger and T 120 like both. Also like the look of the new V Strom 800 DE and RE as they are cheaper and have better local dealers making servicing easier. I like the colours of the DE and the soft suspensions however its tall so the RE might be better for the road and soft enough only boring colours🥱🥱🤣

I used to have a Mt 09, I find that the street scrambler I have now is a better bike. It as better handling, the fueling is perfect, not stuttering like the mt09, is way more comfortable and so much fun to ride and very good on fuel. It may not be super powerful, but it as loads of grunt and is fast enough, giving other riders a bit of a suprise.

New to this channel and I see that your Street twin's reviews are already helping me get a very good sense of this bike, truly. I am torn between the Trident, this and the Street Triple R as the time for the purchase draws nearer. I have booked the Trident though. I know that all the 3 are very differently flavoured motorbikes and I just need to see which one ticks most number of boxes for me. A suggestion on the helmet mounted GoPro though. I feel you could invest in something that's more smoother as this one's very jerky and could give the viewer motion sickness easily :) Something like the one in this kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmXGlWmYrK-em5o ? Check out the kind of road the guy is riding on and the smoothness of the video. Doesn't add up. It's ridiculously smooth.
