Really enjoy your videos. Just to let you know, the bike has Hil Hold, really easy to use and very effective. It also has a balanced brake system. You only have to use the front brake, it automatically applies the rear brake. Obviously you can use the rear brake if you prefer, but it doesn't automatically apply the front.

I really appreciate the two videos of yours about the Tiger 1200 GT Explorer. I have a 2012 Victory Cross Country Tour and really wanted a Honda Africa Twin DCT for the last several years but, after watching numerous video reviews of both, it appears the Tiger 1200 GT Explorer has edged out the Africa Twin in my mind. Thank you so much for the reviews, Kate. 🙂

I enjoyed the video. It didn't sound like you ever revved it over about 6K. 6 is peppy, but at 7-9, this thing becomes a beast! Give it a try some time. Also, when you switched to "Sport" I don't think you got there. Your display in the video is still on Road with a rider modification. Since this was a year ago, you probably won't be trying other settings again, but for those test riding one of these, make sure you engage sport, which will display a tachometer icon below the gear indicator. It really transforms the suspension and engine response. It really turns into a Tiger!

Not great for a brand new bike. It's also my first experience with Triumph. I know and ride that road ,some of those "tight ,bridgey turns" have caught me out a few times. This is maybe because the beauty of the place distracts and then up she comes. That really steep hairpin at 13:45 is a swine coming the other way ,uphill. We often occupy the same space but at different times, you visit the Yonderman Cafe ,I visit the Thee Stags over the road. Destined never to meet .Still I enjoy your stuff immensely. Keep on doing it ,tough though it will often be.

Ugh, I just can’t get over how sexy this bike looks. Ergonomically my 6’2” tall self requires more upright style sport tourers over the more traditional sport tourer body style, but I’ve never been a fan of the (IMO) dorky looks many of these sorts of bikes have. The S1000XR is also a very sexy looking bike, but that engine configuration just doesn’t make much sense to me as a long distance tourer. This Tiger GT seems to be my perfect bike. Would be curious to see how these bikes hold up as the new models start to accumulate serious miles and initial reliability reports start to come in.

I have 59 000 kms now on the XR i bought in may 2020. All year, all weather in Belgium, when i ride, it's mostly 200 to 250 kms a day, no troubles, no worries sofar. About the engine: when you stay beneat 7000, it is actually a nice long range cruiser (7000 in 6th is around 150 kmh), Then when you get to the fun parts, you just keep it above said 7000 and it becomes a hooligan. That said, the Tiger is on the shortlist when I have to replace the XR, together with KTM and Multistrada.
@benwells23382 жыл бұрын
@@petervautmans199 thanks for providing your experience touring with the XR Peter! I haven’t had an in-line four bike before and so I just imagine keeping an engine lower down versus high up in the rev range where it prefers would be miserable. hello, good morning 🌻 Kate, although I have made you enjoy, I think GS is better, I think it is a long way from Triumph to reach BMW, best regards

@@UsernameKate You just said you’d had to borrow your Dad’s R1250 GS, so I wondered what had happened to yours - maybe yours is an R1200 GS ? Nice video BTW x

@@UsernameKate he was on a gixxer 750 doing 25mph round a tight bend, did track days all the time and never came off. There wasn’t enough evidence to prove the car that hit him was at fault

Sorry Kate. I know it is important for you to brave big bikes but if you avoid a certain route choice because “your legs are too short” you basically confess to being limited by the bikes height. What about situations one can’t predict in advance? Such instances could still occur on a route you consider to be safer. It’s of course still your choice to incorporate such risks but also your responsibility then, also towards other people. Don’t get me wrong. I am not trying to keep you from any fun but just want to point out the reasonable middle ground. Riding motorcycles must also always be about weighing the risks against the joys.

Yes, that is why I wouldn't personally own one. But to ride one for a review is a bit different :)
