This is the motorcycle I was waiting for Jamie to review, this in my opinion is the Ultimate adventure bike , not to big or small. This bike will definitely be my next one!

Excellent short and sweet review. I appreciate not having to sift through all the fluff. Thanks for taking your time to make another great video.

I adore my 2013 800xc (just has ABS on/off) with 45k miles clocked. I took a test ride on the 2018 800xca and WOW, what phenomenal improvements. Looking forward to upgrading when mine gets too long in the tooth, but it’s got another 20-40k I think. I just finished an advanced ADV riding course and it was still up to the challenge. Fantastic on road and solid off-road.

The Apache Trail is brilliant! My brother and I rode it last weekend, me on my XR650L and him on his R1200GS.

Nicely done Jamie! If there were more North American dealers this would be on the top of my list. Closest dealer is hours from me.

Apache trail is a fun ride. Did it years ago on my 81 CB900 custom. I’d love to ride on an xca.
@markjacobs62947 жыл бұрын
I have a 2016 XCa. Love it but the GS guys will shred you for never taking it on any REAL off road. I can tell them that it does great. Hagerman, Webster, Weston and Black Bear passes done last September in Colorado. I call it my Swiss Army Bike.

I was wondering why you don't talk about fuel mileage? Distance seems really important on a adventure bike. Maybe you could start looking into it.. Thanks great video
@motogeo7 жыл бұрын
Fuel mileage on my adventures is sometimes difficult to calculate as of all of the many stops, u-turns, takes, stops that we do per day, does not reflect normal riding. The up side of all that extra riding is getting to REALLY know each bike that I ride ,and how they are perform in EVERY way. Thanks for watching and the comment, ride free! :)

Great video and I believe everyone here noticed that you can actually ride a bike and thus "feel" it. That is why it would be great to now how the bike is from someone who can actually say something factual. I ll keep on watching these as they look great but please seriously point out the flaws of the bike else this is just a 5 min commercial.

Seems like it will give you hardtime on corners with bigger diameter frontwheel?
@motogeo7 жыл бұрын
Great off-road, loses a bit of steering on-road but still a good handling machine. The width and type of tire tread on the front tire is usually the limiting factor.

Great review, obvious to see when you're enthusiastic about a particular bike. *muffler? How American are you getting? Haha

Considering an 2011 800 xc for touring and offroading in Europe , but it looks top-heavy asf, does it feel it tho?

If only it was shaft drive like the 1200 is. I'm planning a trans continental ride next year and if this had a shaft drive it would be my first choice.
@ShawnKitchen6 жыл бұрын
I'm with you, in that I don't understand why there aren't mid-weight ADV bikes with shaft drive. (Upcoming Moto-Guzzi notwithstanding)
@Xavii19865 жыл бұрын
@@ShawnKitchen Because these bikes are already heavy and expensive enough. Belt drive cuts cost/weight

Jamie, Im still waiting for an answer. "What is your favorite Adventure bike so far?"
@motogeo7 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm, difficult question...... I am still waiting to ride the ultimate Adventure machine! :)......., but out of all of the ones I have been lucky enough to ride so far, I have really loved the following: KTM 990, Honda Africa-Twin, Ducati Multistrada Enduro, Triumph Tiger 800 and the Yamaha Super Tenere.... but that KTM 790 Adventure R looks insane!
@sv70177 жыл бұрын
Thank you Surprises me there is no BMW in the list. Keep up the good work. Love your videos.

Triumph Tiger = 210 kg (460 lb) - KTM 1190 Adventure = 467 lb (212 kg)

Weight makes a big difference, esp off-road, in stock form the KTM is adventure ready and very capable.
