THis was one of the better rider feedback interviews i've seen in general, and definitely for the Triumph TIger 900. Honest and straightforward.

Hi, you do not have to do anything with the tank to remove that annoying plastic frame cover. It is about 15 minutes work, remove seat, unscrew and remove the side plastic tank covers (the ones with 900 text), then you can unscrew these plastic knee killers, then put back the plastic tank covers and put seat back - you are done.

10k on TRP 50-50 in Colorado. Love it. Pivot Pegz, Barkbusters, ADV motortek front cage and Hepco Becker bash plate. The plastic frame knee wreckers came off the first day.

With my Pivot Pegz, had my new Gaurne Enduro boots on...took off on the highway, and 3 miles in...realized my boot toe was riding the rear brake, didnt' feel it at all....and blew the seals, scored the rotor, ruined the brake calipers/pads... $1400 total for replacement of all the above and labor. Stupid $$. mistake

Great review guys. One if the best I've seen that covers the topics I actually care about. Also, awesome riding clips. Looks like an amazing place to off road.

I have read that the heated hand grips aren't that affective. Did you experience that and how about the heated seat?

To be honest, we only used it twice. Taiwan is only cold about 2 months in a year. And only a few days below 10 degrees Celsius (8-9 months above 26 degrees). So, sorry, we can't really compare, though it has a few different levels with the heated grips and only the highest setting was obvious enough through my MX gloves. When wearing thicker gloves for cold weather it might be not warm enough. I can see that this might be an area that needs improvement. Never used the heated seat, sorry.

Used them at 5 deg c, worked a treat.

At low speeds the heated grips are great, but the wind cools them too much at higher speeds. I use heated glove liners as well from 40-50 degrees F, although with cruise control and the split radiator on the 900 you can alternate warming your hands in the side vents. Toasty!

Mine worked great with leather gloves on, 35 degrees and 80mph.

I’m quite sure the purpose of those plastic covers on the frame you were complaining about, are there to protect the riders legs from engine heat transmitting into the main frame.

In the video it was stated that it had an "Enduro" mode. Thank goodness there is no "Enduro" mode on the Triumph, because "enduro" is a very misunderstood and consequently misused term. The correct terms for Triumph are "Off-Road" and "Off-Road Pro".
