That's a lovely example of a gorgeous car. Should've bought one when they were cheap(er). Excellently presented summary

To fit gas shock absorbers you need to reinforce the frame. The original lever on damper units can be serviced & last a lifetime: just replace the oil with a viscosity that will suit your ride comfort.

I agree with Joe, this is a great car, lovely colour combination with the interior too. Another great video from Joe, as per.

Got one, it runs on SU carburettors, American import which usually buying a dry state car is a much more economical car as the chassis and tub don’t need expensive welding, as for fuel injection i’ve owned one of those as well very little in it, either way if you play with them it’s 20 mpg but who cares when that noise around 2400/2900 is to die for ❤️

The dash was not walnut and walnut dash and door cappings are not factory standard and never were. I did have a TR5 and it could certainly could shift rather quickly when required. Rust is a serious issue, buy one when someone else has spent the money because it costs much more than the after work sale value to fix a rusty car.

There's a nice one for sale up the road from me in New Hampshire USA, seems to be rust free, has the steel hardtop, stainless steel exhaust, and triple Webers. Interior needs some work but overall a good car. Not for me, I'm looking at a local '71 Alfa 1750 to restore.

@@michaelreilly1310esq Still working on the hoarder who has the GTV. It's a straight and complete car but very rusty. He has over 100 cars but keeps saying he's not ready to sell, very frustrating. Alfas were my first loves back in 1967, I want one last restoration project before I shuffle off.

The best colour for a TR6 in my opinion , but who in their right mind would put those hideous wing mirrors on it. They’d be the first thing I’d address.

good show. I had one., way back. Ya need to note - this was in the early days of pollution controls and nobody, even GM with engineers piled on engineers could work it out. last I knew Ya could actually buy new ( original style ) frames , And even improved versions. actually original sad sack engineering - exam the rear ' suspension' had less travel than a Harley. got mine up to 95 thou miles ... then a , umm RX 7. the 2 nd gen 'sophisticated' model. worst car I ever owned , other than maybe a Corvair that spewed oil onto the windshield. fun.

The front end on these always looks odd to me. Those combined sidelights and indicators look like a gawky, aftermarket bolt on.

Using a trusty pen and paper, a crumbly TR6 will cost (with Labour) at least £20K to get up to standard…..

I have receipts in excess of £25k for my TR6 ex a lot of free labour from the previous owner.
