In this episode I start to strip this beautiful 1972 Triumph TR6 which belongs to my good friend Olivier. Once the car is fully dismantled then the body, chassis and other components will be taken to be sand blasted and either powder coated or left in bare metal so the metal repairs can begin.
Stayed tuned and enjoy the journey to get this awesome car back on the road after 40 something years.
If you enjoy this video then why not check out my previous videos and don't forget to like the like and subscribe button and even leave a comment. thanks Jamie

Love watching it come apart. I'm entertaining the idea of giving up on my Chevelle project and seeking out a TR6 to restore. Hopefully, I can find one in the desert rather than up in the Pacific Northwest where I live. I'm excited to see what else pops up on your Triumph as you go along.

Great project. I would brace the shell pretty sharpish, with those sills like they are the body may distort or start to fold in on itself.

Thank you! Yes good point. I braced the body before it went for blasting plus because after market front wings sills etc will be used on this build then it will be realigned when putting back together. Jamie

In great condition. You taking the body off the chassie. See what condition its in. The original yellow is pretty vibrant with black Decals. Old English white is classy also.. Good luck.. Thanks for video.

I'm genuinely surprised at how good the car is from what my first impressions were but maybe not a good idea to speak too soon and wait for what returns from the sand blaster!!

The body is indeed salvageable. Greatest challenge will be replacing rocker panels. Sure , lots of people do it but very few do it correctly such that they are straight/gaps correct and appear factory. One can spot a poor rocker panel replacement immediately and it really detracts from the look of the car. Good luck.

Love it BIG Dog, what sort of time frame have you got in mind for this? Hopefully not the one you had for the beetle you kept in your parents garage 😂

I believe that all replacement hoses and rubber parts, unless they are a good brand name, are crap. There is no way they are equal to the original. I replaced my TR6 front bushings, and they looked 20 years old after one year, and I was not even driving the car. Ok the TR6 is looking better and better. Once you remove the undercoat you may find some surprises, I believe the rear part of the "B" post will only look worse. The rear wing looked good, but pay attention to the part above the taillight as it is a dirt collection area. I cannot believe that someone actually cut holes in the side panels to mount speakers, There are scuttle vent drains right next to the speaker holes. The metal along the wing top edge looks really good on the passenger side, I saw a good sized hole on the driver side where the boot lid ends. Looks like a fun project.

Yes there are always surprises hidden away. Very excited to see the condition once it returns from the sand blasters!! Or maybe disappointed 😂 And yes you are right about the hoses. Never use the cheapest and the modern fuels are very harsh. No problem with the speaker holes. I will be welding them up. No need for a radio in this car, just the sound of the wind with the roof off and the engine noise.

If you think that TR6 is bad, you should see the rusty mess delivered to my shop last fall. Its the worst TR ive ever had. Its a 1970.
