If you work through the car and all of its systems and replace or upgrade whenever possible, these little TR7s are quite nice to drive and will be as reliable as you set them up to be. Most Bristish roadsters from the 60s and 70s need a thorough and common sense restmod

Previous owner swapped in a '75-'76 exhaust into it. All TR7s '77 and later had a catalytic converter where that pair of pipes is. This is a far superior exhaust... that thing will sing when tuned properly. :)

The nipple left on the drain plug looks like it was a chipped or broken cut off insert.

Good morning/ day/ evening guys. No need to drop the diff completely. remove the wheels, remove the left link arm (Round bar between body and diff). Remove the two shocks and undo the bracket holding the e brake cable (Should come off with the left link arm) and the bracket holding the brake soft link to the body. undo the 3 bolts holding the fuel filler neck behind the roof (lift the fuel cap and there are three screws inside the hole). I couldn't see how far back the exhaust pipe was cut but if it goes over the diff you might have to remove that as well. For a bit more clearance, I undo the bolt on the right hand side link arm that holds it to the body but I don't remove that completely. This will allow the diff to swing a bit further for clearance. lift the car up and the coils should now fall out freely and you should have enough space to slide the tank out towards the left hand side of the car. All that's left is the pips and wiring from the tank pickup and the two tank straps. And yes the standard exhaust manifold drops down into 2 and then combines into a single pipe.

Triumph 7s had some serious build quality issues due to poor metal quality, poor construction caused by labor strikes and sabotage from 1975 to the end of production in 1981. MGBs did not have this issue.

$800 for a TR7? You were ripped off

"what caused this car to be put in the barn" ? Because it is a TR7..There is such a thing as a free car that is not worth the price, and the TR7 is it. 60 years of owning and working on British cars professionally and for personal pleasure. Currently own my 30th.. a 1963 MGB. The music is obnoxious and is a deterrent to watch the rest of the video.

Not everyone likes the same music. I came here to watch a car being saved; not a selfie-laden music video.👎👎👎

It’s ok to say your jealous, you don’t need to word it like that 👍👍👍

Google "Blog Jet's Chrysler Conniption X-200" then scroll all the way to the pictures at the bottom of my custom Triumph, then we'll see who's jealous.
