I would put a rug on top of the dash, watching how your are banging the handlebars around the dash hurts me :D, otherwise great video.

I like the heated grips for the summer. I have been caught in the rain many times and my hands freeze. That happening, my reaction time decreases. But heated grip help out alot!

Great vid, thanks for doing this. I was wondering about these grips myself, but honestly for the price I will probably just go with a good set of heated gloves that I can use on multiple bikes. Nice clean install though and thanks for the honest review
@John_Neves3 жыл бұрын
Yeah.. they are quite costly... I've never tried heated gloves before 🤔 I'm guessing you plug them into a usb or lighter port?
@Mudslidex13 жыл бұрын
@@John_Neves some of them plug into a regular SAE connector you would have on your battery like you would use for a battery tender. Those are 12v and give best heat. Then there's rechargeable ones that are only 7v. They don't get as hot but work pretty well and they are easy as you have nothing to plug in
@John_Neves3 жыл бұрын
@@Mudslidex1 nice 👌 That's also worth some thought. Thanks 👍

The Triumph ones are very well integrated - with the button on the grips, and the Dash providing 3 level indication in the Tray. Expensive is subjective (I agree) - but they are quality.

Hey, great video! Thanks a lot! Side question though. Did you notice your tank cover to be slightly loose on the front left side? It doesn’t rattle nor move during ride but it’s definitely looser than front right side. I am curious if it’s my bike only or general fitting issue. Thanks!
@John_Neves2 жыл бұрын
Hi there 👋 Just checked and it's nice and tight. Doesn't move at all. 👍

Hey man, thanx for the videos. I have a question. Will other 7/8 handle bar grips work on the Trident ? I heard that part of the control is infused into the grip making it difficult to switch to a different brand? Do yo think I can switch out to any 7/8 grip or do they have to be made by Triumph? Thanx in advance
@John_Neves2 жыл бұрын
Hi there 👋 Sure you can mount other brands, but why would you want to do that? The original grips have the correct plug that connects direct to a live wire when the bike is switched on, integration is seamless, and the heat stage appears on the dash board. Sure, it's not the cheapest option, but i personally think it's the way to go 👍

How did you manage to get the two connectors through that gap where the clutch cable goes , I have tried and tried can,t do it..
@John_Neves2 жыл бұрын
I actually explain how i did that on the video, because yes, it was a little fiddlely. Stand in front of the bike and push the clutch cable down and to the right. Then pass one wire at a time. Quite easy like that 😉. Hope it helps 👍

There's a problem with the software on both the Trident models apparently. Triumph are aware and are supposed to be working on it. It relates to how much voltage is sent to the grips. I have them and they were poor so I asked the question. I've no reason to doubt this but it seems to be taking them a while to sort out!
@John_Neves2 жыл бұрын
Well that's quite interesting. Hopefully they'll fix it and the grips will get hotter 👍 Thanks for this contribution 👌

Wow! I have the same problem, today I got installed mine at official dealership and they are not even warm, not even talking about hot, what should I do? Contact dealership service on monday? I am very dissapointed with how (not)hot they are. Not even warm.

Seems there is still an issue even now. My gfs grips don't even put out any heat at all! Definitely not even working. Its been two weeks and they still havnt got back with a fix. Reading your comment was a month ago is a bit concerning.

@@John_NevesYes the lights are functioning. We are going back to the dealer in the next few days for a refund. The bike is nice but the grips have kind of taken away the enjoyment of the new bike experience. £240 is alot for a new product that doesn't work. Great video of grips though!
