Absolutely agree; visible cosmetic flaws on a $2,5K guitar are inexcusable. Plus the long sap lines on the fretboard are unbelievable, too. That board should have been discarded by QC long before the neck was finished. And no cavity shielding?

I like how Gibson gets trashed for their prices, but a $2500 superstrat in a market where those fall out of the trees is 'worth it'. You could built that guitar out of Warmoth, finished & all, for like 900 bucks. I bet the guy is super happy with it and all but jfc the logic on that. $2500 is well into Suhr territory and you could probably buy 2 Music Man in similar spec for that. Or one with at least a roasted neck ffs. PRS made a 'super strat' decades ago, it's called a CE24. And unlike this, it seems worthy of the asking price.

There were three of these at GC today... all three colors. I thought the black and red ones looked the best... and surprisingly probably the black over the red in person. I actually didn't play any of them though... because I guess they looked kind of plain and I already have a strat and three PRS guitars. I really don't see the appeal of these guitars unless you want a hss type strat. If I had my choice between this and a CE 24 for the same price with an expensive flame top on it that's a no brainer...the CE any day. The CE sounds epic... close to my core 24. Three guitars should be priced at about $1,800 considering no flame top... they are overpriced though I'm sure they sound great as do most PRS guitars...

I use a Danocaster Tele, Suhr Classic S , Knaggs, and Signature Fender strat, which all sound great. The other issue was the pull knobs, The knobs are like glass and not so easy to pull up. Now maybe over time it would get easier as it worked in, I dont know. I just could not get attached to the overall feel of the neck either and had to return the guitar. On the plus side the craftsmanship of the guitar was very good. Very nice looking guitar. I really wanted to like it...

In the beginning of your video the guitar your reviewing looked a rich red with the wood grain just noticeable. After you spoke of the lack of a pick guard it changed to an orange fire type of red. Dont know if it's a difference in your lighting or what but either way if it's actually that flame red or the rich red it's a beautiful instrument. The next iteration of this guitar should have either a smoked maple neck and fret board or at least a rose wood neck.

@@Malum09 dude I'm a guitar tech with 3 tours under my belt. 3/4 of my keepers are Gibsons with an ESP Tele in there for variety. I am far from rich & have less than 2k in the 3 including mods, which, looking back, were unnecessary. I've gone to GC, picked up PRS CE22s with the trem & locking tuners, one dip of the bar & it's out of tune. I had Yamaha Pacifica 212 & 112 guitars with 6 screw trems and non locking tuners that did better. Do I say 'PRS guitars have low quality'? No. It was one example out of hundreds of thousands. Tbh fam a lot of the 'Gibson sucks' rhetoric is from dudes coping about their meh $400 LP copy or simple buyer's remorse, which is common to all players in all markets. You only need one good one my dude & they made billions of em. Bonus is they don't have the LP mystique going on and relatively unappreciated. Good series to look for are 90s Specials, the SG1/SGX if you like single humbucker & 24 frets, and the various Faded models. A used Standard is probably a grand if you absolutely need a bound neck. If you get a few minutes in to the video he says this PRS has chips & finish issues, on a brand new $2500 guitar that is relatively easy to manufacture compared to a set neck with maple cap type guitar. And? Man, it happens. Making my own guitar was an eye opening experience.

@@kampfkustomer2343 Well, we have had very different experiences. I giggled and toured heavily from the early to late 00's. Touring in punk and metal bands in Canada will definitely show you what your guitar is made of. I was a hard Core Gibson guy. Owned a bunch of them. They required ALOT of upkeep/setups, which was a pain in the ass. Last straw was a Les Paul Custom I bought where the ebony board split. Sales guy talked me in to a PRS McCarty and I am glad he did: absolutely rock solid guitar. From owning numerous Gibby's and still owning numerous PRS's, there is no comparison in my opinion. If you gave me a new Gibson, I would just trade it or sell for a PRS.

@@SluggerStark yes bro the mahogany ebony and Titebond on your PRS is blessed by Jimi himself and makes you run faster and jump higher. Buddy of mine from American Me had the same experience...only it was with ESP Custom Shop happily getting replaced by a pair of import Schecters. It's almost like all pieces of wood are unique, but it isn't like I've been everywhere in the process from the green line at the mill to finished handmade guitar or anything. Enjoy your PRS more than Trogly enjoyed finding obvious flaws on a $2500 bolt neck.

mmm... for that style of body, i honestly think the Joe Satriani Ibanez signature or the Lukather from Ernie Ball are nicer 😎

PRS makes nice stuff indeed... but it always baffles me when there are simple grammatical errors on instruction pamphlets. The pickup sheet had at least one obvious error.

I found out about Mark Lettieri from Snarky Puppy. I was surprised to hear you talk about Mark without mentioning THAT band.

He does not say the name out loud, but he did throw up the Snarky Puppy logo when he mentioned Mark’s work as a sideman.

Am i the only one to see at 3:38 a gap between the neck and the body ? It's not a thing i would expect from a 2000$ PRS us made.
