I like how Gibson gets trashed for their prices, but a $2500 superstrat in a market where those fall out of the trees is 'worth it'. You could built that guitar out of Warmoth, finished & all, for like 900 bucks. I bet the guy is super happy with it and all but jfc the logic on that. $2500 is well into Suhr territory and you could probably buy 2 Music Man in similar spec for that. Or one with at least a roasted neck ffs. PRS made a 'super strat' decades ago, it's called a CE24. And unlike this, it seems worthy of the asking price.

I really don't see the appeal of these guitars unless you want a hss type strat. If I had my choice between this and a CE 24 for the same price with an expensive flame top on it that's a no brainer...the CE any day. The CE sounds epic... close to my core 24. Now maybe over time it would get easier as it worked in, I dont know. I just could not get attached to the overall feel of the neck either and had to return the guitar. On the plus side the craftsmanship of the guitar was very good. Very nice looking guitar. I really wanted to like it...

I am far from rich & have less than 2k in the 3 including mods, which, looking back, were unnecessary. I've gone to GC, picked up PRS CE22s with the trem & locking tuners, one dip of the bar & it's out of tune. I had Yamaha Pacifica 212 & 112 guitars with 6 screw trems and non locking tuners that did better. Do I say 'PRS guitars have low quality'? No. It was one example out of hundreds of thousands. Tbh fam a lot of the 'Gibson sucks' rhetoric is from dudes coping about their meh $400 LP copy or simple buyer's remorse, which is common to all players in all markets. You only need one good one my dude & they made billions of em. Bonus is they don't have the LP mystique going on and relatively unappreciated. Good series to look for are 90s Specials, the SG1/SGX if you like single humbucker & 24 frets, and the various Faded models. A used Standard is probably a grand if you absolutely need a bound neck. If you get a few minutes in to the video he says this PRS has chips & finish issues, on a brand new $2500 guitar that is relatively easy to manufacture compared to a set neck with maple cap type guitar. And? Man, it happens. Making my own guitar was an eye opening experience.

They required ALOT of upkeep/setups, which was a pain in the ass. Last straw was a Les Paul Custom I bought where the ebony board split. Sales guy talked me in to a PRS McCarty and I am glad he did: absolutely rock solid guitar. From owning numerous Gibby's and still owning numerous PRS's, there is no comparison in my opinion.
