The knobs look like translucent urethane skateboard wheels. Funny, my Epiphone LP Special I P90 soap bar bridge pickup's DCR (9.2-9.3K) measures +/-.1K from the Gibson dog ear bridge pickup on my multi-meter.. That Epiphone was $ 129.99. I think one is better off just buying an affordable guitar rather than buying into the scheming for features that really don't apply to the instrument itself. A case, a decal, 2 truss rod covers, blank & labeled. Anyone can swap out Lightning bar for the more adjustable saddle piece. The Lightning bar on mine is about as spot on as it gets, it's really a matter o dialing in the set up that adjusts the intonation. That's any bridge as long as it's been located accurately. We're back to a production guitar being made famous by an artist. I think Charlie Starr takes a 1960's,-present LP Jr and makes it just as famous as a 1956 Gibson he came across. Just watched the video on that. A 1956 Jr that was owned previously by a Georgia Satellites guitarist, that was owned by others. before & after the Georgia Satellites guitarist. Even the original wasn't the one guitar that launched a career & ended up being a lifetime keeper for several guitarists. I have a feeling Charlie Starr keeps that one unless someone makes the offer he can't refuse for turning the deal down. I have guitars that doubling what I paid for them & I wouldn't sell off. Only because I know what I have vs what it would take to replace them. I don't think mine are better than the new one's, but we all know there are issues with all of them. Correcting those issues might be more work than it's worth going thru for another guitar vs the one I already lived thru that for. It may be a matter of finding a replacement right away, it may take more time. Scary how good the Guitar Center version of the LP Special I P90 was out of he box. Dialing in a set up and it was even better. I'm not saying I'm a better set up technician, bu I did have the luxury of investing my own time as labor to tweak it & take those several cuts at adjustments as it played & settled in.

That fretboard edge rough spots are just a deal breaker for a Sales Return for what they charge for this guitar. And it even looks that bad at the nut => 1st fret on the treble High E side. At any rate, the sound samples didn't sound any better or worse for what a $ 129.99 GC Epiphone LP Special I P90 sounds like for a bridge only tone. And that's a good thing for he affordable Epiphone, because it's that close to Gibson good for excellence. The Epiphone affordable is 99% a Gibson. The onlything I ended up changing on a % 130 Epiphone ? I added a customized LP 3 ply pickguard to match the knob locations. Gives it a Custom Shop vibe to it, 1 of 1.

Nothing flashy on the outside the magic is inside. Hey Ya'll! Thank you Charlie, Gibson and you as well Austin.
@CJZM77775 ай бұрын
Nice try, but the rough edges on the fret board was just sloppy workmanship and not intentional. It is a no frills guitar but you get that from the simple color, 1 pick-up, 1 slab of mahogany, simple pick guard and no binding. The fret board on a $2K guitar shouldn't be rough like that unless it is relic-ed to match a historic guitar and this guitar is not relic-ed.

This guitar is without a doubt worth the extra 400 bucks over the price of a new junior. The case is fantastic and the tuner and bridge updates are nice. The slide in the case candy is also very cool. Even without those, the resale is simply going to be higher since it's a limited edition which makes it worth the extra. As far as the QC issues, the ding could have happened anytime before or after it left Gibson so I don't hold too much against them on that. Besides, I would likely do worse than that inside a couple of weeks of owning one. However, that stuff with the fretboard was unacceptable. They have the demo shop and simply should have noted the issue, marked it as demo and sold it for a hundred bucks off. Not only is that better for their reputation but they likely make more selling it directly like that than if it went out to a shop anyway. As far as this artist model goes, love it. It represents what the artist actually plays rather than creating something the artist thinks might be cool and then pulls out for a song or two for one tour.
