That's a Jackson SL3. Pre Fender design (with toggles for each individual pickup). Super cool guitar and the guy probably paid what a new Les Paul costs for that. The case is a throwback to the 80s cases and they call it the chainsaw case. These superstrat style guitars have come back into style a bit with all of the prog metal happening, and also in the wake of King Edward Van Halens's passing. Quite an amazing instrument and it plays just like butter. Neck isn't quite Ibanez thin, but thin enough to go Ferrari fast. My 2012 LP standard with the 60s neck feels similar.
@KRAZEEIZATION2 жыл бұрын
That Jackson, I’m allergic to those horrible headstocks, the FR bridge, locking nut, the H/S/S pickup configuration. That Green Gibson is pretty cool. I liked the Gibsons voodoo from around 2004. They have red pickups. I was tempted to buy one but never did. The skull at the 12 fret or fist looks a bit silly though.
@Masterfighterx2 жыл бұрын
That Floyd and the pickups looks really weirdly setup, but the neck seems normal. Did a little googling and it's next to impossible to find ANYTHING about this model. But it's apparently normal for 80/90s Jacksons to have stupid high sitting floyds as I found another limited model in red instead of blue from '88 limited to 25, Floyd is sitting a little lower, but not much.
@thepurpleplayer91682 жыл бұрын
Not all floyds are recessed floyd roses(flat to the body wood) some are just top mounted and therefore sit more on the wood like a strat bridge
@Masterfighterx2 жыл бұрын
@@thepurpleplayer9168 I know there are different mountings for Floyds, but this is far from how a Fender strat has it's Trem, or Satchels Charvel sig where the Floyd also sits right on top like on a Fender. Here it's literally floating high above the body and the pickups are super high as well.

That Jackson I thought for sure was going to have shark fin inlays. I've got a Rogue from Around 96 that was more or less the same with a different headstock. It's a cobalt blue with a pearl clear coat. The finish on that Jackson reminds me of a decorative egg coloring that used to be available when I was young. It came out almost exactly like that finish. I don't know if that stuff is still around. I've bought two of the sturdy gig bag hard cases one was a used PRS case that I have for a strat copy whenever I'm done building it. The other is a Gator case that I bought for the SG special faded blue i just got from you. I highly recommend the gator case. It fits as snug as any manufacturer's case. The PRS case is more of a generic case that I could fit a Bo Didley Square boy or an explorer in if needed. Its hard sided too but would need some velcro to keep the neck in place since it's an older case. I looked at that Jerry Cantrell Wino model earlier on Gibson's site. It's a little out of my price range. But I think they could produce a similar model with the additional piezo but with the bridge pickup more in the center like half way to the center. Cool now you have the perfect strap to go with your fake pit.

Got it when I was about 16 for my birthday and I remember thinking that that was how all “nice” guitars felt like so I played that thing for about a decade and had no idea that different guitars could feel drastically different. Got to say that I'm not a fan of spending $2000+ on a guitar and getting a gig bag with it, should get a hardshell case. At the very least it should come with a lightweight case. I bought a used guitar from Daddy's Junky music store years ago and they wouldn't ship it without a case of some sort. It was a $300 PRS SE I bought as a platform. They said they'd sell me one for cost: $50. To this day I regret selling it along with the guitar when I did. It was basically like a rigid case with the same canvas outer shell as a gig bag, and weighed about the same. I use an Eric Johnson Strat that I always take along with one of my other guitars that use humbuckers. I've repaired guitars for 20 years and it is easily in the top 3 of lightest Strats I've ever played, and that includes vintage 50s and 60s that are usually very light due to the fact they had better wood stock to use and that they get lighter the older they get when the water and moisture evaporates. The classic case on the other hand... It's like carrying a Strat inside a 70s Les Paul Custom. It's insanely heavy. I like storing it in it, but not carrying.

When we get guitars sent to Australia shipping is an issue but also the guitar gets rated by BorderForce for “ import tax” and depending on the value it can add a hefty extra tax fee, BorderForce are a pack of thieves because they hold your item until you pay the tax or you don’t get it back. I had an Oscar Schmitt Delta King ES 335 ( Washburn ) coming from a Maine Music store and it was shipped by FedX, it got lost in transit 4 months and when it finally arrived I shelled out $200 in import tax and the neck was broken….not a great story and no happy ending.
@joermnyc2 жыл бұрын
I bought a Gibson Firebird from the Netherlands, re-imported it to the USA. Since it’s an American made guitar they couldn’t hit me for the instrument import fee, but they still taxed me for it, even though I paid taxes on Reverb (though those may have been Dutch taxes?)… at least FedEx is “nice” enough to pay that so I don’t have to wait… and then charge me cost of the taxes PLUS a percentage for their trouble! It’s crazy enough that I won’t do that again unless it’s something REALLY special.

Hi Trogly, i just got my first gibson les paul yesterday, its a brand new one, how common is it come brand new with a microphonic pickup? I picked it up at the store but wasn’t able to test it with high gain or high volume, but now at home i discovered the bridge pickup (490t) was microphonic giving me that instantly high pitched squeeling noise when not playing it :(, dont want to my guitar to be replaced because i loved the top on it (its a tribute but the top on it has more figuring and flame than the 60s and 50s that i saw at the store) I just want the pick up to be replaced or fixed.

Hello Austin, great video killer guitars. I bought my first PRS from Sweetwater as a Christmas gift to myself, a flawless stunning wood grain guitar, set up was spot on... I also bought the PRS hard case worth the extra 200 bucks, I'm out and about too much for a gig bag but admit the guitar came with a Quilty PRS gig bag, Sweetwater sent it along... I can't say enough about the fit and finish of my SE Custom, the humbucker pickups with coil split is amassing versatile depending on what amp I'm using. My point being to my guitars player brothers and sisters don't cut the Quilty short just because it's not USA made. It was a cost thing with me buying Indonesia PRS guitar. However, I will admit I would have loved a USA made guitar. I've always heard and read PRS is vary conscience of his quietly control, I'm a believer. However, I draw the line buying a guitar made in Communist China, just my personal Fellings... Randy, North Woods of Mich.
