It's tough as hell to be a mage in tight tunnels like that with lock-on working against you. First time commenting after watching you for ages now. That lightning sphere is amazing in the corridors. Magic characters are definitely harder to run than any others. I try to level my conjuring as it gets me meat sheilds and levels.

Woooo! He got Ocatos! Low level mages are some of the hardest even in packs that try to prop them up, at low levels. You'll find a rhythm eventually. Finding that rhythm is a big part of what makes watching fun, it's only bad to watch when you choose to pound your head on things without learning sometimes. Mage Armor -often- but not -always- tends to get really good support. I can't run Lorerim right now as I have other packs installed so I can't check the trees easily.

Im late to this but just wanted to say as someone also playing Lorerim the combat is brutal so I can only imagine how it is playing a mage. I personally adjusted the difficulty for myself because for me it wasn't fun getting oneshot by nearly everything and I only have so many hours a day I get to play but regardless don't feel like you're letting people down! I'd much rather watch someone try and fail than get it straight away, its more satisfying when you finally beat it and feels much more relatable for me than watching someone clearing a dungeon without even breaking a sweat 😅

LoreRim is hard; that's by design. It is meant for the more "min-max" roleplay-oriented player who has already experienced everything vanilla Skyrim has to offer and wants a more challenging experience. Every class struggles to begin with and you aren't letting anyone down by letting us see the full experience. Don't worry: you'll hit a breakpoint with your build where you start destroying everything, just like vanilla.

Not sure if they changed it in Requiem, but Ocatals used to be able to store 3 spells at a time, great for an armor, overtime heal, and a bound weapon combo that kicked off right at combat start.

12:45 In base game and with mods I always die a shit ton until mid game as a mage. The only time I haven't struggled as much was doing a archer build using conjuration (boujd bow and summons to distract), and using a lot of powerful restoration magic in tough fights. Mages are rough but very worth it in the late game

Why not use a dagger in addition to your kit??? Most mages you fight do and they full mage builds too lol

If you're truly concerned about dying a lot, I'd focus on clearing bandit locations until about lvl 20 then focus on things like forsworn, mages at that point. Mage dungeons are difficult even at mid level tbh.

1. Put Ocato's Recital in your right hand and the spell you want it to bind it to in your left hand, then cast your right hand. Important, if you previously had something assigned to Ocato's Recital, then you need to first cast Ocato's Recital with an empty left hand to first unbind Ocato's Recital then redo step 1. How it works, when your char enters combat, the spell Ocato's Recital is bound to will automatically be cast at now cost. There is no need to cast Ocato's Recital unless you are assigning a spell to it.

There was a pullchain behind pillar in hamar's shame. You walked right by it so fast you missed it. I spotted it as you ran by it. Hope this helps if you ever go back there . I think there is also a side quest that sends you there. I can't remember who gives quest though... sorry.

Suit up in heavy armour, add one handed and maybe try battlemage, if you feel Ike it. Should atleast increase your survivability, with the heavy armour at least and if your mana runs out, you will have another output for damage. Keep up the good work 👍

i wouldnt go totally in for the imperials as a dunmer. Really depends on how you roleplay your past. Most dunmer dont really like the empire either bc they abandoned them after the eruption of red mountain and kind of left them to care for themselves.

I think you should take the shield from an anigo. Give him a two-handed weapon or try to get him to dual duel daggers so he's more of a DPS. He blocks too much. Not doing enough attacking and every time you've died it's because you've closed distance with the enemies. Stay back and be support for an amigo.....lol just my 3 cent

1000% agree Loreim as a mage is horrible to start PS you need Circle of Entropy = mana regen

I'll look for it at the trainers. I highly considered getting that spell but ended up getting other stuff. I thought maybe it required people to be in it to drain mana from them, like the Circle of Strength spell, which would have made it very difficult to use, but it seems it's just a static mana regen circle which is a lot nicer.

you have a decent chance with DLSS + Framegen mod from PureDark. Note that this is a PAID mod. Also might try VRAMR if u need more VRAM but u should be fine with a 3090

I play ultra with a 3090 and it's fine. Some frame drops in whiterun but everywhere else it's usually no lower than 50, averages 60 fps. 2k resolution bc I don't have a 4k monitor, but I was accidentally running it in 4k and it was fine. Pi cho enb or amon enb and CPU priority set. No vramr or anything.

The combat is overturned in early game, why a lot players recommend to drop dmg received modifiers to - 50% to level 10, - 75% until level 15-20 & then full damage after that. By level 20 you have enough skills and health, to not die to every enemy.
