It is bizarre that people feel the need to troll others. Please understand that what you do is of tremendous worth and the KZbin channels of people that I respect, such as yourself, discussing topics that interest me have provided me with much pleasure over the years. When life gets stressful, getting away from it all by watching some videos about stuff that you love is very therapeutic. Great stuff! I've watched loads of KZbin videos on rock music criticism (well done for clarifying what that word means in this context) and yours are always absorbing, informative and humorous. And you can put words - even sentences - together to make coherent arguments. I may not always agree with what you say, but that's the nature of opinion, isn't it? Never change!

This is brilliant - I had so many people over the years say I have no right to speak about music as I don't play an instrument. That is stupid. I collected and got to know well over 15,000 albums over the years and I have noticed those who take an interest in music to this extent tend to go down the same musical path.

Same here. I've tried to master a few instruments (piano, guitar and harmonica) but I only managed to frustrate my teachers. It turned out that my finger coordination, especially on my left hand, just isn't good. It doesn't matter how hard I practice, the technical skill level just isn't there. So I gave up on those ambitions and turned to the one instrument I can certainly play well: the hi-fi. Because I do have a fine ear that picks up all the intricacies in a song, and I value lyrical content just as highly. I do a lot of research into every artist, album and song in my collection. So, good luck to anyone telling me to shut up just because I am not a musician... I mean, by the same logic, only chefs are ever qualified to criticise/judge the taste of food! 🙂

I had lunch one time with Bill Bruford, back in 1990, and was stunned to learn that he knew almost nothing about what was happening in contemporary music at that time. I did learn that he did not like: 1. the last Genesis album 2. Chris Squire 3. Jon Anderson 4. The Cocteau Twins. And so, except for vintage jazz, I wouldn't expect him to wax authoritatively on anything. His memoirs, published years later, confirmed that for me.
