You covered the whole spot on 1800psi thats very impressive. I think I had 1200 on that as the last tank I had for the trip. Also impressed you recognized the spot. That was probably the biggest structure we dove that day or the day with Blue Gabe. I generally like the smaller stuff but that one is in a good place to have firebacks and carbos.

We were just another pocket or two further down where we got the big Lobster a couple years ago. I feel like I covered more this trip for sure not having all the current. I did check out most of the structures. I wanted to sometimes they are there and sometimes they’re not.

I've never owned a lobster mount, but it seems to me from the ones I have seen they don't seem to hold their color very long. Now maybe your using some newer paints/sealants that will last a long time, IDK?
@jasonbihariАй бұрын
I don’t paint them and yes, some of them fade out relatively quickly, but some do OK. It has a lot to do with how old the shell is for how much color it will hold. That’s the reason why I look for lobsters that have growth on the shell like algae or barnacles. There’s a girl on the East Coast of Florida around Stewart or Fort Pierce that actually paints them and does a remarkable job.

I believe you can check her out on Instagram at Florida lobster taxidermy if you wanted to see some of her work.

I know you don't want to advertise the location, but may I ask Atlantic of Gulf? Thank you.

and these fish that are around you, why don't you catch them, you can't catch them, they are very good fish here in my region
@jasonbihariАй бұрын
Yes, most any other dive I would be taking a lot more fish that I have around on the spot. I was a little bit low on air and more looking for lobsters so I could do the taxidermy on them to sell to pay for my trip. Plenty of other good targets around I was just being extremely picky and I’m normally not.

The fish that kept swimming around him were yellow jacks in the beginning and amber jacks near the end. This was a commercial trip. The yellow jacks are good to eat but don't have a good market value. The amber jacks have a lot of parasitic worms in the meat so they are not a good value either. We are only allowed a strict weight limit of fish per trip and jacks will quickly take up all the limit.
