You must be new here. If you knew how things work on the streets you’d understand that for me to take one young girl against her and her gang member pimp’s will means I can no longer safely go into that area or even do these videos that I’ll bet made you aware that this was even going on. I’m the messenger. For me to get into doing things against people’s will is the end my very informative channel. By making you aware of these problems it opens the door for you to get off your sofa and go into Crip or Blood territories and try to take away a gang’s form of revenue. I wish you good luck with that, especially after the girl will ten times out ten be back on the streets in a week explaining to her pimp/gang member who called the authorities on her. My job is to inform and help where I can, but not to get killed in doing this. You, however are unknown on these streets so it would be far easier for you to go to Figueroa Street and find one of the many hundreds of underage kids doing this. It might also help if you realize that every underage person I have interviewed has ended up back with her family after appearing here. Criticize me if you want, but I believe I’m doing a good job of informing the public while helping where I can.

@@Rollimggiant. Kids do go back to being kids, sometimes! I was in foster homes after living like she is, on the streets. I didn’t know how to act sometimes, but I did well in school and was so happy to be off the streets, though it was a mixed experience, for me. Programs like Covenant House or Children of the Night are, sometimes, better options. They are familiar with the issues. If home is a safe place, sometimes girls can & do go back. Sometimes they’re glad to be kids again, but the problem is often that they were unsupervised, abused, or neglected, and not able to be kids, to begin with. Sometimes, it’s not abuse by parents, but neglect or not being supervised when a parent is gone (even if they have to work) can be just as dangerous. If any of the boys she talked about meeting online were significantly older, that’s abuse too, and can lead a child to want to run away, or feel no one protected them. Sometimes, kids don’t know how they’ve been abused, but they were, whether it’s by family or not. Sometimes the family didn’t know, and want to help, now. It just depends on the family, and the supports a child has, but it is possible. Mark said most of the girls who he has interviewed HAVE gone home.

You guys don’t seem to understand that even if Mark called protective services there is very little they can do, I work with these children and it’s heartbreaking but they continue to abscond and return to the lifestyle until they are ready to get out or, god forbid, something scary enough happens that causes them to want change. We cannot physically detain them or restrain them and even if we could, they will likely return straight back to the streets. Their little brains aren’t developed and the environment they are in plays a huge part in them not being able to/not wanting to get out. Trophy sweet darling there is more for you out there when you’re ready for it ❤ Keep up the good work Mark

Showing what the world is really like from so many different perspectives. He does such a good job with his conversations, lets people be themselves regardless of their backgrounds or age, but it's always clear how much these stories in particular effect him. Keep doing what you do, Mark. I hope this girl finds her way to safety and a brighter future 💙

@sciencenotsrigma4 ай бұрын
@@rockkorn. I was out there at 14, and I did see girls who looked a lot younger, like they should be in elementary school. One was out on the corner all dressed up, flat-chested and under 5 feet tall, with a woman who looked a lot like her, only a few times her size. I was thinking I don’t know if I should hope that’s her mother, or hope that’s not her mother. Whatever was going on it wasn’t good. Being raised how I was, and where I was, it didn’t occur to me that I could tell the police. and they might do something. Today, heyll yeah. If I saw a 10 year old out there, with an adult, that’s what I’d do. What a lot of people who aren’t from the hood don’t realize is there’s middle aged, usually white men from the suburbs who troll the little girls. They roll down the window, pull out a lot of money (to a poor kid), and when I didn’t catch on, they’d pull something else out. One used to follow me to school, he seemed like he was crazy, so that factored into me giving up on going back to school, which I had quit when I was 12. Also on the way to school, I saw one high heel and some women’s clothes hanging out of the dumpster, and that dumpster smelled extra bad. I was afraid to look, because I already knew what it might be in there. I saw the news. I saw girls getting best and dragged by their hair, on the corner, and lots of women working, including the only friend’s moms who had prettty clothes, and their kids had clothes, so all those pros and cons were going around in my head, because my dad had just gone up on drug charges & wasn’t gonna be around no more. My grandma, who mostly took care of me had just died, and my older cousin who looked out for me got addicted, so I was really on my own. My mom was really ill, and we didn’t have food. When I told my mom about the tricks offering me money, she asked what I was doing, to make them think I was advertising. I heard other mothers said the same thing, when stuff happened to them, so I knew better than to tell her about her boyfriend. It’s a lot of kids’ reality. Eventually, it grinds people down and they want to do something to change it, or they know people need money in life, but there’s not a lot of options or guidance, and a lot of people who will lead you wrong because they want something. I hope this young lady knows she can still be anything if she goes back to school, and have a good life, and deserves one! There’s alternative programs and GED programs, if she doesn’t want to be behind, and shelters that will help girls get off the streets, if she doesn’t get along with family. She shouldn’t have to worry about supporting herself or men, at her age. She deserves love, support, and opportunities just for being the beautiful child she is! ❤

Yup, as a former neglected kids at the hands of s single mother, be tough on your kids. Regimented, organised, disciplined, whilst also giving them an abundance of love, encouragement, guidance, a sense of aspiration and that the world is theirs to take, help them map out their future. Give them increasing responsibility and independence at appropriate ages and let them know they can always ask you anything you have missed and they want to know, about the wider world or mundane procedural things like how to make appointments etc or, even any so-called taboo topics. Teach them stuff. Balance in all things. They are sponges, how you behave, act and react, the language you use all gets absorbed. They will unequivocally love you when they get older if you commit to their betterment as your #1 priority.
