The country of The Philippines is losing its land. Areas that used to grow rice are now underwater. Not beach front resorts as some might say.

There's an old saying about land and why you should acquire it; *"Because they aren't making anymore of it".* The Philippines has a dual problem; the island chain is basically people living on submerged mountains with the water constantly rising. Hard to put infrastructure on it and have it last due to severe conditions; earthquakes, typhoons, flooding, etc.

It has nothing to do with 'global warming'. It's submerged land. Filipinoa are essentially all living on mountaintops surrounded by water (as we all are in a way). They are in the middle of the ocean; it's how the Philippine islands developed in the first place.

That's in the countryside/ rural areas, where water is still pristine, Bicol is a large region with just a 6 million population, smaller than most Philippines regions but large in land area. What you see is a muddy water, whenever there is strong pour of rain, the muds and dirt from the mountain flows directly to the rivers. That's how it works in tropical areas, not necessarily polluted just because its outside of the US or Europe.
