Tropical Storms Emilia and Fabio Send Pumping SoCal Surf!

On Thursday and Friday this week, thousands of surfers across Southern California finally got a taste of tropical swell, as Emilia and Fabio sent good to occasionally epic surf to select hurricane hotspots up and down the coast. Newport Beach was the standout, while the Lexus US Open of Surfing in nearby HB also saw fine surf as did normal summer standouts like Lowers and Malibu. It was short-lived, as tropical swells are, but SoCal surfers will take it. And hope for more. Check above for some highlights from our cams, and check the site for the full swell story, coming soon.

Where is the LA Olympics surf break spot? Thinking upper , lower trestle? or any consistant breaking wave in Cali.? Hoping the s swells will provide epic surf!

@@ufapmc if the Paris Olympics can go thousands of miles from the games, to Tahiti, Call to Hawaii wouldn't be a problem, the Duke would be smiling down on it! The timing is so crucial to the event, especially summer south swells. Maui has the freight train rights, Oahu has ala mos and several other possibilities. But it all depends upon mother nature .Aloha , mahalo.

Just reporting that Surfline is currently down. Since I upgraded to premium+ I was directed to select my home spots which were apparently reset but I can’t access any surf reports. Hope this gets patched up soon enough
