If you're a true DragonBall fan you know Dragonball technically has few fillers because every episode was apart of gokus journey , they would throw in , him rescuing a village and meeting a new friend(s) here and there but mainly about goku getting stronger and finding "Gohans" 4 star ball. DB was so raw and taught you real life lessons. Probably my fav out of the franchise. I also wish the timelines were aligned better😅

I watched GT years before Super came out and yea, while it has some decent scenes, I wouldn’t rly recommend it. Just go straight to Super after Z Kai and movies. If you’re like me who just wanted to see more of Goku tho or any of other characters, go ahead and watch it. You might still enjoy it. I did, but yea, I do know it’s not for everyone.

The bad parts of filler aren't even the "filler episodes" it's the parts when they insert stuff inbetween fights to drag stuff out, like characters reacting to the fight, which you can't skip unless you're going to fast foward or something.

You can watch the OG Dragon Ball fully if you want. You'll likely still enjoy it as it's not as fast paced as Z. A few more episodes in my eyes doesn't hurt. Now depending on how patient you are for Dragon Ball Z either watch it whole or do DBZ Kai. I especially suggest this for the first two sagas since the freiza fight (Vs Goku) is long as hell in both being 30+ in the Original and like 15 or so in kai. At least try a couple episodes of GT. If you don't like it skip it entirely. (I have no experience on super as I never watched it)

I know im late to this tldr: kai has BAD animation wich makes cool moments dull buu saga gets spoiled in intro, filler isn't bad (and there's little of it) and HEAVY censorship wich makes it feel more like a kids show than a show for everyone. Don't watch unless you don't care for bad animation, HEAVY censorship and REALLY don't want filler. Z is better end of argument. Long ver: Please do not watch kai. Whoever told you there was better animation was lying because it always looks so out of place and makes the cool moments feel dull also the intro for kai: the final chapters (the buu saga of kai) spoils the entire buu saga and there aren't even that many filler episodes and they're not bad so it's not worth it to watch. And kai also has heavy censorship removing any kind of blood wich makes the show feel like it's more for kids than for everyone Unless you don't mind the bad animation, the HEAVY censorship and REALLY don't want filler don't watch kai
