wow... found ur channel as a kid playing tropico 5, further introduced to all the paradox games and stuff. You're the entire reason I play all sorts of strategy and indie games, and not games like call of duty. So cool to see it come back full circle.

i've gotten so annoyed by the crop mechanics, that i literally just always put all of my plantations onto multiculture, even if it makes them less efficient in the start, at least i don't have to have a manure thrower for every farm to keep its fertility up.

Playing way too scared at the start. You should have a 3x3 grid of plantations and a ton of logging camps everywhere. Take everything out of the mines early. Thats the mistake so many make is being conservative. If you generate a very strong economy early it snowballs to the point where you dont need to mine anything anymore. Modern era darknet import. I dont even leave the colonial era until i have $1,000,000 treasury. It doesnt take as long as you think if you play aggressively right away. I also expand to a second island in the colonial era as well.
