#tourtrucktuesday LIVE FITTING IS BACK
Canadian Sling King Mac Boucher and all round great guy joins me in the PGA Tour Department at TaylorMade Headquarters.
Check out Mac’s channel :
/ @macbouchergolf
Mac is a lefty with some serious talent and plays with a lot of feel. To start this fitting we talk through the hot melt process and dive into detail in terms of a clubs balance point and what each individual player should be looking for in order to maximize their driving game.
Once we’ve cherry picked his Qi10 LS and dialed in the perfect loft and lie we head to The Kingdom to check ball flight and data on the Full Swing Kit launch monitor.
Mac isn’t your ordinary player and his shot shaping talents are unrivaled.
Enjoy his hitting display as he gives some amazing feedback on what he likes to see and why, with unreal awareness of how he delivers the golf club.
Be sure to #subscirbe to this channel and check out everything below:

I can listen to Trottie all day long in addition to loving the club tech stuff I didn't really know about until Trottie explains it so well. Keep it coming, brada. Someday I would love the opportunity to meet you in person. I only live in the San Diego county, 40 minute south of Carlsbad.

Chris, this is fantastic to watch and the level of detail you provide is incredible, clearly an expert. Granted, not every golfer needs this type of service, but one of the biggest issues is that no fitter or fitting centre in the UK offers this type of service and goes into this level of detail

Trottoir, Matt, thanks for that. This is so educational from a couple of the best fitters, hitters of the ball! I’m trying to fit myself with my PXG 0311 gen 5 and my Garmin R10. The thing I noticed that there is soooo much difference between the driving range ball, the winter (2-piece ball), and my gamer ball; in terms of speed, launch angle and spin. I think there’s almost 25-30 yards carry difference with my meager 95mph clubhead speed. 😱 But I’m slowly getting to that elusive straight/baby draw ball flight, with 12-16 degree launch angle and 2800-2200 rpm👍👍

13:28 @Trottiegolf, could you explain exactly, what the Normalize-function does for the numbers on Trackman and when it should be used? I had a session lately, where we hit range balls, which should have been selected as Limited distance Soft, but usually in a studio I hit premium hards. I am not sure, which ball was selected at the range ball session. With the range ball Normalized had the ball speed jumping at 175 from 165 and smash factor from 1.49 up to 1.55, which I find bizarre.

Slight correction for the gear nerds out there, the shaft Mac has is a Gen 4 HZRDUS Black, not a hulk. He has a limited edition rainbow PVD finish on that shaft which was released last spring.

Since it's Tour truck tuesday I always wondered what would happen if a tour player had a specific build with weighting and holt melt or tipping (something you cant get at a normal golf store) and their driver broke while warming up before their round on Sunday and the trucks had left.

@@trottiegolf do you mean trying ro hot melt the weight to the driver head from outside?
@trottiegolf
@trottiegolf 8 ай бұрын
@@thadubsdavid recognize I didn’t explain that well. 2 options, well technically 3 1) blow air in the head and try and remove whatever is loose or the weight 2) hot melt to stick the weight to the crown and then make the other weight in the head lighter Only really works with loose pieces of carbon opposed to an actual weight 3) send it back This is the safest option. To lose a weight in the head is a little odd so speak to manufacturer and sort that would be my advice.

"apples to apples move it 1 click lower" ... does trottie not understand that when you do that the face angle and lie also changes? the CG rotates towards towards the shaft on that 1 click and reduces deflection too.

@@doch5061 lot of talk maybe 15 - 20 yrs ago about 8 iron shafts in wedges. That'd be your soft step play as once you get down into those wedge shafts they're all one length
@SnoopyGolf
@SnoopyGolf 11 ай бұрын
@@avy2084 You are wrong in many ways. Why do you talk when you don't know. First of all most shafts don't have a PW shaft. You might be thinking of wedge flex which is different. Putting an 8 iron shaft in a 9 iron is soft stepping it once basic terms . More of the tip section is exposed which makes the shaft play softer. You put 9 iron shafts in wedges if you want to play same same shafts as irons in wedges. Putting an 8 iron shaft will soft step it once. 7 iron shaft will soft step twice.
