I'm 57 and started BJJ about 6 months ago and feel very luck to have found your channel! You do a great job of explaining stuff so that even an "old guy" can understand :-) If your academy was in Northern California, I'd be there every single day! :-) Keep up the great work... it really is appreciated!

Thanks for yet another wonderful & informative video! The overall breakdowns are outstanding info for a noob such as myself and the 'top 3 typical opponent responses' are what really make your content standout from the pack. Cheers from Texas 🤙

Absolutely loved that you referenced a previous concept (naturally rolling shapes). You have so many tips it's hard for me to choose which to work on. I've decided, drills. Take care and thank you Professor Tom.

Every single time I watch one of your vid’s and apply it in class ,whether it’s in a drill or a roll ,it works! I’ve been doing Jiu-Jitsu now for a few years and all the big breakthroughs come after watching your videos! I would love to take a trip around the world and see y’all after this virus craze dies down

As a white belt, and one of the biggest guys in class, i also get paired with the other big guys. My regular training partner is a blue belt and loves the Butterfly Guard. Im giving everything i can to just posture up and get free from his grips but i always end up getting arm dragged and then rolled. Frustrating beyond belief, because im constantly on the defensive and can never seem to pass. Its like im living my classes in Groundhog Day.

How would you apply a butterfly game to a guy standing? Or if the kneed person decides to just stand up?
