My windows opens when I press the windows button, but once I click the search bar on the top it all cancels itself like I exited. How do I fix this?

The index rebuild worked for me!! Like a charm!! Thanks so much!! I tried everything else. Stopping and starting the search service. Replacing the SearchUI.exe files. DISM Scan, SFC Scan.

re-indexing helped, but it only indexed like 90.000 elements, despite the fact that I have 650.000 files and 250.000 folders in that disk. So it doesn't index all files. What can you do against this?

Hey, for anyone reading this, this happened to me years ago. I fixed it by opening the file C:\Windows\System32\ctfmon.exe every time I restarted the PC using the Windows + R key.

@@Mrdsmith500 Didnt find a fix that worked for me, but i did speak with microsoft and we reset my pc, kept all the files and downloaded it with cloud option and it works now, my pc’s also running more smoothly. Apparently i had windows files that were corrupted so it fixed them completely Edit: It fixed the search bar

@@assassins13610 I got this after running the scan. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Then continued with a path to the logs. I'll try to figure out how to do a "reset" Thanks.
