Troubleshoot DF54 Clogging issue

How do you test plasma generator? Resistance? Continuity?

My df54 worked great for 1 year, but now it clogs once a week after grinding say 20 doses. the declumping plastic baffle looks bend inward toward the exit direction of the chute, any advice would be wellcome. scott davis in port townsend wa.

Mine is now clogging all the time. Cleaned it out 3 times and still clogs with the finds going everywhere and sticking to the machine. Must be the plasma generator. Will send an email to your company

Mine does the exact same thing. I have to take it apart each time. I’m out of the warranty. I’ve never had an easy time with this grinder. A huge waste of $600. Very disappointed.

I believe if you are not cleaning the ground well enough in the shoot, the plasma generator will not work. It happened to me the first week in using it. I put my basket in there and the ground piled right up in the shoot because it was to high up. I cleaned the shoot, used the brush and a vacuum and even saw light from the top when looking up the shoot. Ground my beans again and they were sticking all over the place and clogged right back up almost immediately. took the whole thing apart, did it again with an air compressor and brushed and blew air until there was nothing put it back together and it worked perfectly.

Bought the MiiCoffee DF54 grinder two weeks ago and it was fine with espresso settings (20-25). Just tried a coarser grind for French press at 80, and now it’s stuck around 40. It clogs and when I turn it on, it makes a noise like something’s jammed. Also, the coarser grounds are flying everywhere and sticking at the outlet. Anyone else had this issue or knows how to fix it?

when people take machines apart and discard parts, they’re really don’t understand. They’re there for a purpose then not just there for decoration.

Edit: after a bit of trial and error, I've figured out how to keep the grinder workong as it should. It is a bit fiddly figuring it out at first, but now gives the same grind time after time. My biggest tip is to start at around setting 40,(it's ststed in the manual) and work your way down to dial in the grind you want. It is a good grinder, but can be frustrating at the start. Original post: "I received this unit from Miicoffee a couple of days ago and have not modified it in any way. It clogs no matter what I do. You have to clean it out after every dose, and it still may clog. Really disappointing so far. Definitely wont recommend this product."

​@miicoffee I've been working with the grinder for a few weeks now, and I have sorted how to avoid clogging. There's definitely a learning curve in using the DF54, but I'm not disappointed like before now that I'm more familiar with it.

Hilarious... But replacing the plasma... That does not sound fun as a consumer.

The video is for information purposes. Consumer can use warranty service if there is any issue with the grinder.

@@miicoffeeafter reading quite a few reviews it seems to be quite a common issue. Hopefully you guys can come out with another version that resolves all these jamming/clogging issues or ensure newly made ones have the solution built in as it looks like it’s a good grinder aside from that
