Repaired and replaced the felt gaskets and drive belt on our 8 year old dryer. Cleaned out about 3 miles of hair and 5 lbs of lint … now it does the 1/4 mile in under 6 seconds! Thank you so much for posting this Handy Dandy Ginger!

Have to replace the rollers on our LG DLEX5101V. Your video showed me where the release catches are and how to access the front rollers. Many thanks for taking the time to make & post it! Update: rollers (one frozen, one separated from its hub), belt and tensioner replaced, using a kit from Amazon ($40). We shall see. It went well, the rear rollers are a bit of a trial to get out, you have to remove the entire mounting plate to get at the nuts. First, disconnect the water system hose (at the water system). Remove five philips screws on the back of the drier, then dismount (you don't have to remove it) the heating element and back off one of the screws holding the water system so the rear panel clears. You have to push down on the panel to release it from a couple of tabs at the top, then lift off another pair of tabs at the bottom. Thread the water system hose through the rear panel and the mounting plate should be free. You will pull it forward through the space where the drum was. Yeah, you basically need to disassemble the entire drier! Total time including vacuuming out the lint - 1.5 hrs Fasteners are metric - I used a 14mm socket and a 10mm box wrench for the rollers. The 10mm box wrench is also for the idler pulley bracket. My idler pulley assy did not come with grease but the one I removed had grease at the mounting point and the pulley shaft, so I threw a bit of hi-temp grease there before I installed it. Make sure you get the shoulder of the mounting bolt through the hole in the pulley bracket. It should move freely when the bolt is tightened.

Great video. I have an LG DLEX5170W and this video worked for it very well. My issue was a broken belt and loose door switch, but I was able to test the thermal fuse, thermostats, heating element connections, and thermistor (11 ohms +/-) to make sure there wasn't anything else happening once I got into it. Spent about $25 overall. Thanks!

Thank you for the video. For those with small hands and an empty house so that the kiddos dont hear you speak profanities that even Aliens couldnt identify, you can replace the thermostat and fuse without removing the panels or drum. Pull your dryer out from the wall, disconnect the lint exhaust pipe completely from the dryer. It slides out once you remove the bracket screws holding the exhaust pipe at the bottom. You can remove the thermostat and the fuse by reaching into the hole and unscrewing each. The method in this video does make it simple to access and remove each piece as instructed, but there is a different method that some may find easier (or more difficult).

Not sure if you or anyone else will see this, but I’ve got the same dryer and I keep getting a flow sense light but no codes along with it. LG was useless. I’ve already cleaned the house venting and have had the dryer completely apart and cleaned. I can’t find anywhere that really describes what sensors/logic is used to determine blockage. I’m tempted to replace the thermistor, thermostat and cycling thermostat to see what happens. Some kits look to be $60 v $200 a vent company wants to charge v $1,000 for a new dryer. I’m pulling my hair out.
