I was the one who asked the question regarding a hard time finding information in books, and I wanted to say thanks for your reply. I definitely do downplay my own experiences and I've had some very interesting ones. Being a witch is a heavy path to walk but putting it into words why we do it is very difficult, and very worth it. As for tarot, I love and respect it so much. I was recently reunited with my very first deck after losing it in a storage shed about ten years ago, and it was like a spiritual slap. I think one issue I do have with the craft is just lack of respecting my own abilities. I think I will focus on that for a while. This video was a huge help to me. Thanks so much Kelly!

I have had issues with depression and feeling like I'm not doing enough these days too. What has been helping (along with therapy) is literally speaking to the gods at my altar ( although you don't have to do it at your altar). I ask them to help me be productive or get a certain task done. If I get it done great, if not then I try again. Seems simple but its been helping a lot!

Thankyou so much and so perfectly timed. Listening whilst making supper, recovering from first week of 'school at home' again, trying to find the magic in the mudane with teens and husband constantly in need of something. Grateful for the little practices I learnt when they were toddlers...I still have a candle, a moment to breath, five minutes in the garden listening to my tree. Blessings and prayers are more often said at the kitchen sink (washing up meditation is a thing) or stirring the soup than at an altar. And I still 'play' with my little shrine that we've always called 'the nature table'. For the moment, it's all about keeping it simple. Thankyou all.

What a great video! It is great to see that you developed your path and magick in a daily basis. I guess most of us will sometimes be a little lost and feel that reflected in our practice. What I learned long time ago is that my magick is everywhere I see and seek it. But if I don't want to see or seek, it won't be there. With social media we feel that we are always behind, losing something. Or worse, that we are leaving the Gods and Goddesses behind! After I became a mom, I sometimes forget a Sabbath, and get myself looking at someone's video and say "shit, we're already there?" And then, just before sleep, I say thanks for one more sabbath, one more year, with heart and intention, knowing that the Universe appreciates that in the same way it appreciates a workings inside a circle. Thanks dear! It has been a long time since I last came and comment, but this one was really great! Tfs

To the second question: I'm currently struggling with depression and divination genuinely helped me realize what I lacked to start healing, both spiritually AND therapy. Just like you said, it doesn't matter what place this need for spirituality comes from, the connection you form is genuine regardless.

Fantastic video, Kelly-Ann. If the new mum, or any parent, sees this I second the suggestion to build your spiritual practice into your life with kids by involving them. My daughter is super crafty so I've got us making wreaths together to mark the changing of the seasons. She also loves festivals of all kinds (her fave is Diwali, there is a large Indian population where we live) so I've been creating little ritual activities for us to do together like making biscuits, decorating and making up our own celebrations. I don't call it witchcraft, not yet, I'm just including her (and her sister, who mostly likes eating the biscuits and throwing the sticks we collect!) in things I like to put my energy into. I also approach cleaning the house as a spiritual practice, which is helpful considering how much cleaning one does as a parent ;) Hope this helps. You're doing great!

I loved the question about associating spiritual practice with getting through tough times. I've had a similar experience myself, where I've used my practices to navigate lonely or difficult experiences and then felt a little "guilty" for practising "less" when I've been joyous and in communion with others. Learning to surf recently reminded me of how everything can be part of a spiritual practice and sometimes important shifts (in my case, forgiveness and integration of a healthier paternal/masculine archetype) can come about quite spontaneously while we're happily immersed in flow doing something else.

For those who don't already know of it, the Witches Box subscription has a book subscription that is specifically for delving into more advanced witchy topics. I don't subscribe to the box becos I live in Nz, but I watch all the in depth Booktube reviews on the books that are chosen and decide which ones to purchase myself from Book depository. I love it becos the books discussed are high quality, and often take me in new directions. Thought that may be helpful for anyone looking for some more advanced inspiration 💗

I loved this Kelly-Ann 💓 I really resonate to the way you talk about living your magick especially when referring to having little ones. I have a 3 year old and a 5 year old and so life often feels very busy - especially now we are having to homeschool (they attend an academy school which is pretty strict and rigid about the assignments and attendance with virtual school) it feels very intense right now and its a good example of how 'witching' doesn't necessarily look like how it normally would or how you would imagine it would. My daughter is actually so interested in the moon cycles especially and she has a few decks and crystals and a spell book for young people and we actually did a full moon ritual together recently to spark creativity and new opportunities. It was really fun and sweet - very different to what I do alone but wonderful and potent nonetheless. I also think it's so important to reassess goals and expectations. I had a goal to restart my dream journalling practice for 2021, which kind of fell by the wayside during the first lockdown in 2020 and I've still not yet started it up and then I realised the other day that I am trying to restart a habit - which was actually too much for me to stick to during homeschooling last year - during yet another cycle of homeschooling; I realised that perhaps it's simply asking too much of myself for right now, so I'm considering what ways I can enhance my dream practice that don't feel like too much right now. Thanks so much for sharing - so much wisdom here. Much love and many blessings heart❤️🌕 😘 Xx

Hi Kelly, I found your channel last week through the sea of witchy videos on KZbin. I don’t usually comment on videos but I have to reach out to let you know how wonderful your videos are, and how wonderful you are! Not that it is an issue but so many KZbinrs are usually American and sometimes that makes content feel un-relatable for me, it’s refreshing to listen to someone that sounds like me and my friends. That might seem like a small and strange point, but representation is really encouraging for me. I really enjoy your thought flow, way of explaining things etc. So thank you for your content and inspiration, I look forward to watching more of your videos and hopefully supporting you somehow in the future. This video is such a serendipitous gift, thank you. You talked about a great many things that I myself have struggled with in the past, especially the part of breaking down what witchcraft actually looks like for us, and figuring out compromises based on health and life. I recently climbed back out of a lengthy bit of depression, and combined some soul searching about what creativity I wanted to accomplish, with releasing a lot of the self flagellation I'd been engaging in when I couldn't spend hours in front of an altar, or painting, or reading. I used a recent hair cut as a letting go ritual, and left feeling like a huge weight had been taken from my shoulders (one that I have repeatedly placed there myself no less.) Thank you for creating this video, it encapsulated many things that I've been exploring and reflecting on. Rock on, you're awesome.

Another comment; I think there are so many ppl not being looked at by dieticians and doctors are not really taught about diet related health in med school. I NEVER had any energy no matter what I did or tried. It turned out that I had celiacs and was undiagnosed for many yrs. for anyone struggling with energy but u are eating and sleeping well, I’d highly recommend seeing a specialist so u can learn what is best and worst for ur body. We are all different in that way.

Your answering of the question regarding whether seeking spirituality can be conflated with seeking to fill a depressive void really hits home with me as I’ve been wondering similar things recently. I have been wondering whether I come to spirituality more at certain times because I’m feeling more depressed, or whether spirituality steps in to support me as a response to depression. If that makes sense. Either way I’m grateful for your answer and I’m going to read that blog post when I’ve finished your video. Thank you again - as per an interesting and thought provoking video (and I’m not even finished yet!)

Once again, you've delivered relatable and insightful information about spiritual wellness. I do struggle with the term "witch" because it has been misused over millennia. When I use it among people who are in-the-know, there is no doubt about the reverence and mutual respect we afford one another. When I could use it among muggles, there is a decisive and prescriptive response that either dismisses legitimacy or demonizes the term. I get deflated at the need to educate the general public and really not sure that its my job. My level of energy is tied to my own wellness and some muggles take more energy than others. They are also entitled to whatever opinion, no matter how erroneous. I tend to refer to myself as the Spiritual Bohemian because it really speaks to the inclusivity and fluidity that I feel. Yes, that term is my invention. Some might call me an Eclectic Witch. I also try various things as would a Chaos Witch. As soon as I land on one term, I want to expand on its definition. So .... meh, I am who I am .... whatever that may be. Whatever the case, I do practice Witchcraft and it is essential to my spiritual, emotional and mental wellness. Luv you Kelly-Ann. Muahs!

I like the idea of feeling over action for witchcraft and magic. But I was wondering, since feelings can be so beyond us sometimes, if "decision" is not an equally useful concept? Maybe it's a crossing of Frankl logotherapy, with basic Crowley "do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law", and some chaos magic. I find it's useful to just at a point "decide" that what I'm about to do is magical. And if it doesn't work it was already magical practice because failure is part of the craft. Sometimes feelings can be a very frustrating material to work with I find.

The Magician's Mindset exercise should be turned into a form of meditation practice. So much of the mindfulness stuff has the effect of grounding a person in their body, on the earth, in the heere and now - the Magician's Mindset exercise can be a practice which achieves the opposite - one which connects the magician to whatever higher realm or realms one believes in - the realm one accesses when you want to feel that magic is afoot in the world. In Asatru terms, your personal Yggdrassil's roots are fixed in Midgard when you practice mindfulness, but the magician's mindset exercise connects the other realms to you through Yggdrassil's trunk, including Helheim of course. The meanings you draw can be interpreted as the realms connecting with you, and you seeing the world through the filter of the world you're linked to.

I never had the gift of having my own child but I raised 2 step sons and was a nanny for several families over the yrs and raised quite a few little ones. For the mom that is having a tough time incorporating her witchiness into every day life, I’d like to say that being a mother in and of itself is part of it all. You brought life into the world and there’s nothing more powerful :) so maybe keeping that in mind would help? You can remember what a goddess warrior u are for carrying a child, giving birth, and now raising them. You could make little protection charms to hang over the crib (dill is very good for protecting and soothing babies) or focus on healing a certain chakra by adding the appropriate crystal to the area as u nurse the baby. Don’t worry momma- u will get back into it!
