Trout Fishing & Camping By A BEAUTIFUL Michigan River!

A couple buddies and I headed north to the Manistee River in Michigan to do a one-night camping trip / river float. This was the first time I ever trout fished from my kayak (but it definitely won't be my last). I wasn't sure what to expect from a fishing standpoint but was pleasantly surprised to catch several rainbow and brown trout! Such a fun experience in Pure Michigan :)

I used a couple different baits but the one that ultimately did the job (as usual) is the good ol' spinner. In this case, I was using a black spinner with a chrome / chartreuse blade. It was 1/8oz and seemed to be a solid choice during these low-light conditions.
I have always wanted to do a float & camping trip and was super happy I got the chance. Was a bit cold but we planned accordingly and had plenty of layers.

I had a 14' Coleman fiberglass canoe. 🛶 Got it for my fourteenth birthday back in 1978. Loved that thing, but if you flip one over and I did, it really sucks.😅 I did a lot of Trout fishing in it when I lived in New Mexico back then. Awesome vid and the scenery was beautiful. 👍🏻😎
