🎣 you really should try giving these berkley powerbait 1"/2 nymphs in a brownish orangish color, they work great for big brownies and tiger trout too. nicely job well done on catching these fish here and you always give us some great fishing videos to watch. Why do you knock the bale arm back after casting, rather than just turning the handle?

Good question. I’ve been told by several avid fisherman that turning the handle to close the bail is hard on the reel and shortens the lifespan of the reel. A guide up on Lake Erie that’s been fishing 50+ years told me that and ever since then I use my hand to close it. Not sure if there’s anything to it or not but that’s why I do it. Can’t say for sure if it’s right or wrong but just a habit that I’ve stuck to.

It also is supposed to reduce slack in the line on the reel and lead to fewer line management problems.
