That is NOT at all what Neil Druckmann said in the documentary about Part II. In fact he SPECIFICALLY said that people and news articles wrongly mentioned in their headlines how a Tommy DLC / Solo game was in the works, when all he had said was that he had a concept of an idea for a solo story about Tommy. But that it might become an episode in a show, a movie, or a comic book. He didn’t know yet but it COULD be something in the future. He emphasized he wasn’t working on developing it, just that he had thought about it and mentioned it once and people wrongly ran with that idea and stated it was a project in development when it wasn’t

That's not fully true. Here is the quote, "I mentioned that we had written a story that takes place after The Last of Us Part 2 that stars Tommy and I hope that one day we get to make it. Then the headlines across the industry said 'Naughty Dog Has Outlined The Last of Us Part 3' and that's wrong. It was always a small story, not a full title. At the time the higher priority at Naughty Dog was to fix our pipeline and work life issues. Based on where we were I didn't want to prioritize that story so it was shelved. I still believe one day it will see the light of day. I don't know if it's a game or a show."

I doubt it's a Tommy game, in the documentary it sounded like a pipe dream more than anything. I'm guessing the new IP, but I'm fairly sure he'll also be in part 3 as some kind of good conscience or inner voice of reason because my guess is Ellie will have some big decisions to make in there.

Naughty Dog basically confirmed their next game is not TLOU part 3 but their new IP sci-fi game. Neil did say part 3 is coming but its likely it'll be after this new game from them comes out. Troy could have a part in that and in part 3, he's a very talented voice actor

In my personal opinion I don't really mind if we don't see Joel again for any future projects. Don't get me wrong I love Joel I thought he was an incredible character in the first game. But this is Ellie's story. It's always has been since the first game. Joel's story already pass and gone during 20 years of the outbreak. We need TLOUpart3 to be more about Ellie. We love Joel but I think it's time to move on.

Totally, I think he will appear though in the final instalment of Ellie's story. I think he plays too pivotal of a role in her life to be completely absent, as the mainline series is about their relationship. I definitely think we will see him in some form or another, whether dreams or flashbacks!

I don't want to be that guy, but I have no faith in Naughty Dog You see, they made the Uncharted Triology and gave us one of the best gaming Protagonists in history They made the first The Last Of Us Part 1, which is one of the best zombie games ever made, but the story of the second was terrible, and only hypocrites would say otherwise Part 2 was good from gameplay and mechanics, and it improved a lot from the first game, but the only thing that is missing is a good story, and that upsets a lot of people, including myself I don't want to run around killing people with pregnant women , I don't want to play as muscular or LGBT character , I don't want to play a story that's forcing me to play as characters that I don't like I want to play a normal game with normal characters and with normal problems, not whatever the hell they implemented in Part 2 There's a rumour that Naughty Dog is forcing Sony to stop Bend Studio from making Days Gone 2, and I think we all know why Naughty Dog would be doing something like that I think all of us gamers need to stand against the greed and the agendas of the companies No one wants to pay money for unfinished games or games filled with agendas or games filled with transactions and cosmetics I miss the old days of gaming

Just bc the main character from the last game died, and the new main character is a gay female, doesn’t mean the story isn’t a reason to dislike the game.
