I just returned a beautiful 2 step 24" Troy-Bilt blower after one week because the engine was surging and stalling out of the box. It was a nice machine for it's price. I didn't want to get into repairs so soon, can't trust it anymore so I took it to the store, they tested and accepted a refund. I will try to get another one and I will try to fuel it up in the parking before taking it home, so I make sure the engine runs smooth if it will have oil in it (the one that I returned came with oil).

Unfortunately, a lot of new machines are adjusted to be so lean out of the box that they surge. Not something you should have to deal with though as a consumer

@@brantsmallenginerepairs I wonder if I should buy the same thing. This week I need to decide. Any suggestions for this price level (1500-1700CAD)? Thanks

@@allex_p you can't go wrong with an Ariens but ultimately it comes down to features you want or need.

Toro Power Max 824 is the new toy. The engine runs great. I will update after the first snow.

They certainly don't make stuff like they used to. Thanks for watching. Cheers

I service the carb on the machine by simply removing the carb bowl, This one of the worst junk to work on. Shame on the engineers

I definitely agree that the design of this machine is appalling if you need to work on the carb.
