mine gets a little hung up coming down without a load. With the extension you have to lift up the drywall over your head to get it on the lift. Over all it is invaluable to do the job. My ceiling is 14 feet at the apex.

where do the other end of the cable go ie get attached to the top slide

The other cable end inside the extension is permanently attached inside the extension. both extension post and the standard post come with their own cable.

It remains attached to the lift extension shaft. hopefully you figured that out. sorry I don't monitor my channel
