Looks like there's good ventilation, you can access water/food easily and offers good peripheral line of sight. I've been riding the Fox Proframe and it's also a great helmet. I'm glad to see these kinds of helmets emerging. We've been needing these. Great video! 🤘

I have both the TLD Stage and the Fox Proframe and for me the Fox fit better. I’d recommend trying them both on if you’re in the market for a light weight full face helmet. The TLD Stage’s cheek pads rub on the front lower part of my ear and earlobe. The cheek pads on the TLD Stage seem to extend further back compared to the Fox Proframe. Everyone’s head is different so I’d recommend trying it on before buying. I also wear a Bell Full9 for bike parks so I’m use to wearing a full face helmet that has complete padding coverage inside so having padding touching my ears isn’t a problem but on the TLD Stage’s cheek pads just part of it is putting pressure on part of my ear and that’s really annoying. I pay full price for all my gear so there’s no bias or brand loyalty in my opinions...

Nice one, yeh I find a lot of half face lids sit too low over my eyes even after adjusting the inner shell, so I'd second that, as I may have an odd shaped head! 🤘 I don't pay any price to be honest, try and find a product reviewer who does, the difference with me is I'm honest mate, I'll admit to not knowing about everything! PS we are not sponsored by TLD, but I do love that Stage helmet personally. Thanks for your great input dude, I always appreciate criticism

this helmet seems to have good venting, but my concern is safety, cus the holes are big, you could still hit a metal rod sticking out of the ground, or a old broken fence, or sharp rock. but if you stay away from those things, this seems to be a nice helmet for easier trails.
@Yielar1

I was torn between both as I love my Fox Flux half shell. During my research I found a number of cases of Fox Proframe helmets with bad quality control (chinguard seperating at the seams) which really put me off. How has your helmet been? Do you trust it?
@Titot182
@Titot182 4 жыл бұрын
@@ItsATrap614 I've switched to the stage, as has the rest of our crew. More comfortable, better vented and lighter! I like having the adjustable peak and is snugger. That said, had no issues with my proframe. I wore it back to back today (one ride in the morning) before switching to the afternoon ride with my stage, with the TLD edging ahead. If you can find it for 150 quid? Its a steal!

Thanks for the quick reply. I have just obtained pictures of the crashes involving a similar style helmet (Fox ProFrame) and it changed my perspective. One of these accidents was fatal and the other put the person in coma, luckily he recovered. I have new bike that has boosted my confidence on this new local downhill trail. Last weekend I was sending it, 7ft drops, jumping table tops and gap jumps approximately 6ft up from the lip of the jump, even cleared a table top landing on a manual. Crazy stuff for me, maybe normal for good riders. I will look into a DH full face even if I have to switch helmets.

The Fox is about 150grms heavier, the pads need to be washed frequently and some models don´t come with Mips although costing the same to those that do come with the system, they arent as customizable, etc. All in all buying this helmet is a no brainer

Hi, How does it compare to Bell Super DH? I changed my Super 3R to Super DH. I like it except the two shield what should rotate on each other in case of impact. I rode on rocky terrain and the googles moved on my head/face with the outer shell... I am thinkig about to change it to Stage I will use only this helmet for every riding (no half face). What do you think?
@PinnedTV
@PinnedTV 5 жыл бұрын
Now running Super DH too. Totally agree on too much rotation! It's a very different feel, a lot.mote sturdy, but probably not as comfortable, but we all have different shapes heads, try one on buddy. I prefer to be able to take chin off and use all the time
@basiccamaro
@basiccamaro 5 жыл бұрын
@@PinnedTV Thanx. I thought removable chin is a good idea but I used to wear my 3R without chinbar... So what? :D I think the Stage could substitue the half shel.
@dylanlp7778
@dylanlp7778 5 жыл бұрын
@@basiccamaro If you want a real upgrade go for the Stage. I used to ride a super DH till i crashed and finished at hospital unconscious. I literally hit sandy terrain after a jump , and impact stunned me for few seconds and after that I had short term memory loss for few hours. So the super DH offers a good protection but it's not a huge difference with the Super 3R.
