Dystopia is the opening song from Tesseract's new album Polaris and what a opener it is! It has a great groove pretty much from the start with a nice flowing open 3/4 feel that moves into a more up tempo 4/4 vibe. And if you weren't boppin your head already the song skip hop and jumps into one of the tastiest off beat stack grooves I've heard after the second chorus at 1:50.. How fucking amazing is Jay Postones everybody?! A round of applause for the man. As for Troy, does anyone really have to say anything? Perfection personified, as always! Dystopia is easily my favorite song to play from Polaris, but overall, my favorite is definitely Cages. The way that song builds gives me chills every time I listen to it.

+allcartuner Jay is a terribly underrated drummer in my opinion. Groove, indipendence, chops, dynamics and musicality, which to me are the most important qualities of a drummer. And he's got all of them!

+Mirko Fustinoni Yes. But if we want to hear what he writes himself, then you have to listen to Heights. I think Jay's amazing but it's clear that on lots of the recordings isn't actually him playing, it's programmed. Tesseract is Acle Kahney and friends, perhaps the reason why he is "underrated"?

Go to a gig Listen to what he plays, then come back and post. There are whole songs which they never play live due to the complexities of the programmed drums (mostly from Altered State). Listen to Singularity live: Tell me why they don't play the signature riff? Tell me why they don't play the coda of Nocturne? Also go and buy superior drummer and see how that sounds. Basically Acle writes the tunes (including the drums) and the rest of the band plays them. You can tell by the production, live performances and dynamics. No-one would ever admit to this would they? But anyone with a keen ear can tell

I love Tesseract and I love Jay, he is so creative when it comes to drum parts. I had a lesson with him once and it opened my eyes. All I can say is you are so proficient, you are one of the only players that could replicate Jay. Being able to watch the movements has helped me so much over the years. In my eyes you've become the best youtube drummer. Your are truly gifted. Thank you so much (god that was so kiss arse, gonna go punch a couple of walls to restore masculinity)
