Several years ago a Torch plug that initially showed spark on a machine very much like that, sent me down a rabbit hole. It was before the Torch plugs became so infamous. Now it's the first thing I check. Thanks for the great vid.

If the engine was running lean why was the spark plug looking like it was running rich? What was that black schmutz on the bottom of the impeller housing? We have questions! 😉

Usually when people have this problem, they will run the machines with the choke on. Causes a black plug.

Newer machines always look more tedious to work on to me. So those pilot jets,,,,, are those for the idle circuit or for when the carb is choked or both ? I never understood those fully. Nice quick repair Random.

Idle. I think it’s misnamed and should be always called the idle jet, which some people do.

Pilot circuit adds fuel at all throttle positions now. Plugged circuit runs lean and surges.
