Vapor purge valves are an important part of the EVAP system that allow the contained fuel vapors to be released into the combustion chamber under certain conditions. Modern purge valves are controlled by the vehicle’s computer system, and electronic solenoids. Failure of the valve or the control solenoid will result in an emissions trouble code that could prevent passing emissions testing. This video shows you how to install a new vapor purge valve or purge valve solenoid on your 2000-06 GMC Yukon.

I know this is an older video but I was wondering if someone knows where to buy the rubber piece that was transferred over from the old valve in this video? my valve moves around a lot and is barely held in place due to mine collapsing and hardening due to age. I've tried several gm parts sites and a google search and can't find any info.

what is the white gasket spacer piece called at :53 Im missing mine it cause someone to over torque the insert and strip it out of the intake.. Im having to epoxy the insert back in for now

+Daniel Viorato The purge valve is usually located on top of the charcoal canister. In newer cars, the purge valve can be found near the throttle body or near the fuel line.
