Do you have any tips on removing the three bolts on the pulley ? Mine or torqued down so hard I cant get them off. Even putting a huge amount of force on the back side of the pulley I cant get them to budge.

The part you are showing at the beginning of the video is not a belt tensioner. In fact the part you show is not needed on the Civic, which has these pulleys: power steering, belt tensioner, crankshaft, coolant, a/c and alternator. There is no other pulley on this car. The part you are showing is actually an idler pulley which is not part of the civic drive belt system.

What are the chances you can get to that pivot bolt without taking the pulley off?

So if you’re only needing to replace the belt and the pulley tensioner, then we don’t need to touch the alternator at all, right?

Honda recommends performing a bleeding procedure on the tensioner piston after replacement. You are to exercise it before installing the belt by compressing and releasing it 3 full strokes. Not sure what affect it would have on its operation if you were to skip doing this? Any opinions?

Luckily I was able to re-torque everything and replace just the belt, “rattling” noise coming from tensioner is gone. Very low cost if you can’t spend the money on replacing everything. Of course if the idler is some what still in good shape. Hope this helps

When you go th tight the bolts on water pump just put belt back on amd it will hold in place thank me later

I hate my Honda only because I have big hands and getting to some of the smaller spaces is painful😂
