Just got through doing this job on a Toyota Matrix, which has the same set up as the Corolla. Because I was replacing both lines I just cut the old lines and used a 6 point deep well socket to remove the fittings. I also heated the fittings at the actuator and then did penetrant and everything came out easily. Just go slow. Lining up of the new fittings into to the steering actuator was a bear. Very easy to cross thread if you’re not careful. I eventually got them on after several attempts. It would have been easier with someone helping to manipulate the lines while trying to catch the threads.

I like how you are demonstrating on a vehicle that represents real world scenarios. Most mechanic videos are almost perfect repairs with no problems like rusted boots and lines...

Hey really like the video but I found a easier install path for the line. If you go in from the top of the engine with the solid part of the line 1st, it is almost a direct shot to the power steering pump. It only took about a minute to get it in place.

Thanks for the good video. The only little thing I may do different is to not tighten any of the fittings until all are installed including the clamps. Wish me luck on my endeavor to do the same job.

Should anti seize be used on the threads to save it from seizing and making it difficult to remove later on?

Can you direct me to a video for Toyota Highlander 2006 3.3? I’m confused if the sensor on pump needs to be messed with. I love your videos , used it for brakes and rotors. A plus.

i have to say, removal was brutal. Get a MAP or Acetylene torch to release bolts. Must have.

I' usually waste no time goofing around with the line wrench ..if it doesn't crack loose freely.. Just wiz the line .. off..
