I’m really confused on the parking break part. When you put the rotor back on you shouldn’t feel the pads touch the rotor? If the rotor slides off and back on easy should I even adjust the parking break?

Your parts link is for the 09-11 f150! Not 12-14 f150

Don't the inner brake shoes have to be replaced?

I just replaced my rear rotors and pads on my 2014 Ford F150 today. I purchased my truck new from Ford and this was the first time the rear brakes have been replaced (yes, its still a low mileage truck) Just be aware that you may have to adjust (loosen) your parking brake to get the rotors off!! What a horrible design by Ford. I spent about 2 hours pounding on the rotor trying to get it off. I used every trick in the book, WD40, heat, hammer taps on the rotor, a bolt on the backside pushing on the rotor, nothing worked. Finally I popped the rubber cap off the adjuster and loosened the parking brake. This is frustrating because why would the Ford Factory have the parking brake pads holding the rotor on so tight...my parking brake was NOT on/activated at the time....what a joke!! Just a very odd and TERRIBLE design on Fords part. Also, lying on your garage floor on your back while trying to see the little adjuster wheels/gears is not fun. A job that should have taken 2 hours took 6 hours. No more Fords.

So would this be the reason my truck has this weird grinding grabbing noise when I am stopping? I can’t believe they made these to where they don’t last more then 10 years and don’t cover it with any warranties. It’s complete BS. Just another way the man is sticking it to us.
