We liberated Kuwait from Saddam and saved Saudi Arabia from an invasion Saudi Arabia has been asking the US for a Nato style mutual defense treaty and in exchange the Saudi’s will recognize the territory and sovereignty of Israel. These countries want protection from America. We didn’t force them to put our military bases in their countries And we helped these countries develop their oil industries in the first place. They didn’t get that drilling technology from thin air nor did they develop it themselves. They were poor desert backwaters before they got oil rich and those riches will be gone in the next 30 years as oil and gas get replaced by more efficient green energy sources. All of these oil dependent gulf states have completely failed to diversify their economies except Oman

Despite what people saying, this is oil produced in the US, from US owned land, Not foreign oil. We actually don’t own those production facilities overseas, we just force them to sell it to us. That would not count as production in this graph, but would fall in the consumed column. 😂 makes you think about how much oil we’re using that even that’s not enough. BTW, most of US oil is also sold to other counties.😂

I once saw a comparison of 2 photographs of the same place in Abu Dhabi , UAE. One taken in 1950 and one taken recently. Before oil there was nothing there, it was literally an empty desert with only one or 2 fishermen huts. Now it’s a large city with skyscrapers, shopping malls and freeways/motorways. If it wasn’t for oil, the entire city wouldn’t exist.
