Much respect and congratulations to Ethiopia from the US. You are setting a strong example for our governors to hopefully follow as well with non fossil reliable power. May these three nations reach peace and harmony over this matter and work together for the betterment of Africa ❤️💙🤍

Kenya stands with Ethiopia. We will fight to defend our brothers if Egypt dares do anything. We REJECT the useless colonial pacts the British Colonialists made with Arabs on our behalf as if we didn't have a mind of our own. Go Ethiopia 🇪🇹 💪

First of all Egypt must stop meddling in Ethiopian and Sudanese politics.. Egypt is the main supplier of money and weapons to the fighting groups in both countries hoping they will overthrow Abiy Ahmed Ethiopia will get into civil war like Sudanese .. Egypt thought that’s the only way to stop the Dam progress … Abiy is there to stay … Abiy is transforming the country into a new level .. he have a plan to build more dam .. his aggressive approach is a lesson to other African leaders . Soon we will see other riparian countries building more dams in there own country we will see how Egypt react to them….

These African leaders are too selfish. Ethiopia have a large population that need water and electricity. Egypt is too selfish.

Once the reservoir is full Ethiopia cannot in any way limit the flow. So, no problem for Egypt or Sudan. Btw, it is already full.

Is flooding & drought a new phenomenon ? Not at all. So why Egypt and Sudan cry time in & time out for Binding Agreement ? It is bc Egypt wants to maintain its hegemony over Nile water . This is unacceptable . Actually Ethiopia should initiate dam building for agriculture on Nile & its tributaries . TANA BELES Project , aborted by TPLF , could be a good start. Ethiopia to be self suffic😢in food production should build dams for agriculture. Ethiopia's huge water resource is critical in its effort to initiate industry and service . So Ethiopia needs to engage in all its trans boundary rivers . ✌️🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹

Ok, but Egypt has used 60% of the Nike for thousands of years...now its time for other people. They are going to struggle with Trust.

Turkey's dam of the Euphrates severely impacted Syria and Iraq. Turkey gets away with it while everyone wants to attack Ethiopia. Perhaps Ethiopia's dark skin has something to do with the issue considering fair skin Muslim Turkey doesn't have an agreement with Syria and Iraq. Iraq is suffering from a deadly drought.

What would Ethiopia benefit from any type of agreement? almost nothing! Thus, why should Ethiopia peruse for any type of agreement?

The GERD is not the headeck of Egypt. It is a done deal. What makes Egypt sleepless are the possible irrigation dams, which are in the pipeline coming soon. At the End of the day Egypt has to come to terms with the fact that free lunch at the Nile Riverside will come one day to an end, while the upper riparian states will start utilising their fair share of the Nile water. Cooperation and collaboration of the riparian states to develope and enhance benefit sharing principles would be the best option.

The Nile River has long been dominated by Egypt, often to the detriment of Ethiopia, the source of the Blue Nile, which contributes over 85% of the Nile's water flowing to downstream countries like Sudan and Egypt. For years, Egypt has actively worked to stifle Ethiopia's economic development by collaborating with international lenders to block loans for Ethiopian projects. Despite these obstacles, including Egypt's efforts to fuel internal conflicts within Ethiopia and the eventual secession of Eritrea, Ethiopia remained determined to build the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). Ethiopia has the undeniable right to utilize its own resources, including its water resources. Egypt's longstanding hostile approach toward Ethiopia, including its attempts to sabotage Ethiopia’s development, may ultimately backfire. Ethiopians are fully prepared to defend their nation against any threats, both internal and external. Egypt should acknowledge and apologize for the harm it has inflicted on Ethiopia over the centuries. As a nation heavily reliant on the Nile, Egypt must reconsider its actions toward Ethiopia or risk exacerbating its own challenges in the future.

Egypt all time stubborn enemy, never come to terms with Ethiopia though it cries again and again for a Binding agreement that totally deprives Ethiopia's right to use Nile and its tributaries .✌️🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹

Egypt wants Ethiopia to provide something it never had a guarantee against drought not providing them with enough water. It expects Ethiopia to lower its power output and keep Nile flowing at normal.non drought levels. Making demands it never contributed to.
