9:00 you mentioned some mechanical problems before town, then drove straight thru town (where you had a chance to fix it) to go trail biking in the morning (after leaving another town - Hurricane). What happened to the loss of power problems???

I bought a hoodie about a month ago and it still says its in printing, not even shipped yet. Does that have anything to do with you or is that strictly the vendor? I bought a shirt a year ago and had no problem receiving it but for some reason, this year it seems to be taking longer any idea why?

Earlier this year I was dealing with an unexplained illness, lost 45 lbs in two months, I watched Tim’s blizzards and snow trips as well, it got me through it, and now when I can’t sleep I play those videos over and over, his voice was soothing to me and when night time anxiety hits, those same videos play all night! Can’t explain it, but it works for me! Glad the same videos helped you too!!! Thank you Tim!

Hey Tim fellow Alaskan OBS owner who lives just down the road from you. I used my first OBS, a 96 F250 2wd to transport RVs for 4 years, and put 600,000 miles on it before I drove it here and put another 90,000 on it. Your chip saved your tranny/engine in this vid by going into limp before you burnt a valve or a torque converter. Yo when your EGTs start to climb on an uphill, downshift to move more air through your turbocharged diesel. RPMs are better for your tranny too. Much better in your case, as your bigassed tires raise your effective gear ratio to something taller than 3.55 rear end on stock tire diameter [the tallest they ever put in a PSD w/a 4-speed]. Do the arithmetic. If your speedometer is accurate, either you set the tire revolutions/mile or a shop did. If it's inaccurate, it is calibrated for an inaccurate number of axle revolutions/mile, as read by the Hall Effect speed sensor on top of your truck's rear pumpkin. Measure your tire's exterior diameter, multiply by pi. That's how far you roll for 1 tire revolution, in inches or whatever you measured diameter in - 'runout'. If your wheels are making less turns to go the same speed, so are your axles, diffs, driveshafts, tranny, engine. Great, right? Not so much, because the Work the truck has done remains the same, it's just been divided by a lower number, thereby increasing the work/rev, hence strain on all moving parts. This is why we have lower gear ratio rear ends on trucks spec'd to tow or haul, or drag race, or otherwise use all the engine power. [Your 2-stroke sled makes almost no torque, but it's geared to the ground and runs 8000rpm to make it up a hill, if you got the balls to pin it...] What's optimal? An OBS PSD has a peak torque @1900 RPM [the later Split-shot injected intercooled SuperDutys peak tork is quite a bit lower @1600rpm]. The horsepower curve of the engine peaks at much higher RPM, like 3200. With big injectors and a chip, these number may vary a little, but not a whole lot. The 96 7.3DIT's torque and hp curves intersect somewhere like 2000-2200rpm, THIS IS THE OPTIMAL HILL-CLIMBING RPM RANGE FOR YOUR TRUCK all other RPMs represent negative values - less power, increased heat and wear, lower fuel economy and lubricant life. Point is, your upgraded 7.3 and your upgraded tranny will be a lot happier and might even make it home if you would quit LUGGING IT like a 💩 and give your truck the revs it needs to climb its heavy ass up a miles-long grade at elevation. When the hill pulls you down below 1800rpm or so, push the button on the column shift and take that fucker out of overdrive, and get over in the slow lane [flashers if you're more than 10mph below the posted speed limit!]. Now that you have more RPMs and they're not falling so fast - check out your new Pyrometer - temps drop when you move cool air through the engine, and rise like the Fires of DOOM when you try to burn a shitload of fuel at low RPM. Downhill, downshifting for engine braking is actually GOOD for your engine, as it blows cold air over the turbo, and the engine runs at high compression in the absence of fuel, which 'cold seats' cylinder rings, making them fit better. Suerte

@@TruckHouseLife Lost Lake Local learned hard bro. 🤣Never overlanded like you, but had lots of great times on The Big Road, calculating effective gear ratios 'n such...No $$ in the RV transport game though - at the end of the year, you're just extracting cash flow from your truck's value and giving it to the banks and the diesel refining industry... Say, ever think about finding an F450 rear end/axle from a L48 salvage yard? You'd have to swap the ring/pinion in your D60 too, but the 4.88 gears in the big pumpkin would have you cruisin at something closer to 4.30 effective gears with your 37-inchers - bee's knees in the hills and ANC traffic too, and enough to keep your PSD below 2200rpm on those big Western interstates. Your house looks great man! Not snowed in and no sign of squatters either when I passed by last week, so there's that. heh Ping me here if you need anything! Hey, if you're cutting across on US50 or up on US95 at night, beware of jackrabbits and deer and ground fog. There's agriculture and irrigation to attract the critters and make the low-lying fog which hides everything on the road. Use your KC lights and think: 55, though the road is wide open and smooth across the desert. 👻 🤘

@@TruckHouseLife Dude is right. Diesels need to be worked to burn out the carbon buildup and keep the injectors running smoothly. Diesels that putter around and idle most of their lives will have massive carbon buildup if the driver doesn't give it a hard drive every now and again. 7.3's are overbuilt from the factory and you're nowhere even close to the power limit for the truck. Open it up and let it scream, it wants to run at 2000 rpm.
