I live in Arizona and this channel has me developing a want to explore these back roads both here and other states. I took my young kids (9yo &11yo) on an off-road trip to Prescott, they originally didn't want to be away from their technology and tablets but now want to go every week. Maybe this has instilled some adventure into their spirits. Keep up the great work, I hope to meet you down the road.

For the taco it's a trick I learned while working at chipotle (and stole from taco bell). Make a mini quesadilla then open it and wrap your crunchy shell with it. You still get the crunch and the quesadilla holds it together.

You guys are finally giving OnX a reason to exist. Generally I find their info erroneous and just lacking compared to GAIA and TrailsOffroad, but seeing your route is pretty neat. You guys did a good job with the waypoints on it too. OnX should find a way to break it up into sections as that would be useful to people to estimate times. Now when people ask me about OnX, I’ll finally have a nice thing to say about it.

Arizona has a lot of fun trails and a lot of history. While you were in the Copper Creek area the first night, I’ve been through that area many times on my side by side. The site you were at with the steps and Copper Creek written on the foundation is the site of the old post office. The road you were on where you had to do all of the tree trimming is usually our return road after exploring areas to the west on some much tighter trails.

After that run through the heavy brush from Mammoth to Dudleyville, you two deserve a couple of local mixed drinks called the San Pedro Torpedo: - 1 jigger whiskey - 1 jigger moonshine - 1 jigger tequila - 1 six-inch plug of chewing tobacco - 1 tumbler full of gunpowder - 1 head of a rattlesnake Mix ingredients, and let steep for 1 hour. NOTE: The drink is considered mild unless you add the final optional ingredient: a splash of water from the San Pedro river.

So I may send some shivers up that spine, but skunks and raccoons have five toes on front and back paws, and normally the claws are visible in the prints. Those prints look feline, like that of a bobcat. Because the curve of the truck, that second print looks like a pad on the bottom, but i believe its just because of the curve and pad just didn't fully imprint on the truck.

@dorknerd

Gaia still works as long as you don’t mind doing a lot of things manually. I find the interface clumsy and convoluted. Garmin has solutions as well. Brad tried one for a hot minute and he never said why he stopped using it but I’m betting it was clumsy too. OnX has been getting better all the time.

OnX is great but take some of the trail descriptions and trail guides written by users worth a grain of salt. Some are accurate, but others are over or under estimated with difficulty and with flat out errors that OnX hasn’t corrected (green trails that should be blue for example). Trail conditions also change regularly especially after storms so the last trail report might not have the most up to date conditions. I used to use a Delorme PN40 with gps coordinates that I would enter and it’s better than that. I’ve certainly found more trails I never knew about in my area.
@donleamon8653
@donleamon8653 9 күн бұрын
*** Edit - So I checked Brad's offer and for $28/yr I'm going to give OnX a shot and compare it to Gaia and see.*** - It *seems* gimmicky and heavily pushed by influencers. I really loath making sure my Gaia app has the map layers I want on it at any given time,. The whole download process is painful and slow. However, I have over ten years of trails I've been on and past/future campsites logged here in AZ and UT. That’s gold when the day is coming to an end, and you have options that you’ve tagged from past experience, with pics in most cases.
