I guess I’m not the only one that’s done that. I pulled a 53Ft trailer up on to one of those polls at the US Post Office facility in Tacoma, Washington. I ripped out my trailer brake lines and 10 cross members but stopped right before hitting the trailer tandems axle assembly. Luckily for me that was my last stop of the day with only 3 pallets to offload. Also I’m a diesel mechanic and I was able to cage out the trailer brakes and zip tie up the brake lines and back off the poll then use a hand pallet Jack to off load the 3 remaining pallets and drive back to Portland, Oregon my home base without being spotted by the Washington State highway Patrol. I Disconted my trailer airlines and drove back just using my tractor brakes. It was a 7,500.00 bill to repair the trailer. I hate those polls , they need to make them about 1 Ft higher so this stuff doesn’t happen. It’s so easy to pull a trailer up on them🤪🤪🤪🤪👍

He screwed that trailer up totally. There is no way of repairing that damage. If the Company he drives for keeps this driver employed, it will be a wonder. If he worked for me, he would be walking home, no matter how far he is from home! We had a driver for the company I used to work for, who took the 3 axle assembly and wrecked it by hitting a big rock at the truck stop because he was mad at something.
@Dan_Neely3 жыл бұрын
Was the trailer riding low, or was the post installed a bit too high? The top of the post was clearly designed as a breakaway; and an extra inch or two of clearance between the top of the fixed part and the trailer would've kept the post from ripping the frame apart like that. Axle would still have been wrecked, and depending on how it twisted loose might've still totaled the trailer, but without the destruction of the frame like that the trailer itself would be a lot less sketchy to move around.

For craning normally on craning operations a multi-part cable block is only for slowing the rate of winch; May not be the same for Recovery as-shown … some auto transmissions have a pump at the back but not reliable and fewer don't than do so we normally remove the drive-shaft unless we can tow from the back → Never get under any steel without jack-stands - I have never seen a hydraulic jack fail but I have seen one of the screw jacks on common trailers fail and it just drops too fast to escape *Safety is no accident* _Sometimes the only effective safety is the word_ *No!!!* or just don't get within range of being in that situation > This guy did not buy that expensive truck by violating what I said
