Man Trent, you are patient. You got a driver who can't roll down the windows to talk/listen to you while you are about to give him instructions and he has a headset on to cover the one ear that is facing toward you. I wonder if he had music on that headset going the whole time too.

Silent Epsilon What typically happens to a driver in a case like this? I’m thinking the tow bill is going to be $500 to $1,000. Does the driver pay that, or is he usually fired? He seemed like a lazy slug.

It strikes me as odd that you'd have to explain to a driver how to use specific features of his tractor. Wouldn't they learn this in driving school? Makes one question our regulatory bodies that license anybody without sufficient knowledge of their rig.

I can tell you that I was never taught to use the power devider in CDL training. They only teach the basics to pass the test. They expect your trainer to teach specifics like that. I actually had a friend teach me the power divider when I got stuck in my own driveway bobtail.

Hi from the UK.nice job there but you have more room between carriageways than we do over here and a run off like that would have been much more serious.Another thing,was the driver charged with any driving offence? If this type of accident had happened over here the driver would have been charged with “driving without due care and attention” as a minimum and would have been fined and 3 points on his driving license (12 points and you are banned for a minimum 3-6 months) Thanks for the videos I find them really interesting

You should get a set of chains with the frame grab hooks on them. It amazes me how few drivers know what the power divider is. How can these idiot drivers get a CDL to drive trucks without knowing something as simple as what the power divider is.

@plazatowing

I considered this, but considering the unit was fully loaded, the angles involved to achieve this properly puts a tremendous strain on the snatch block and rigging as it requires an angle multiplier essentially doubling the load! Also, the boom is not really designed to pull loads unless it remains in a straight line which creates a side load on the boom. Thank you for watching!

Hi Trent, did you ever had collab job with Ron Pratt? Secondly i was wondering if the road was not large enough for your truck to be in reverse and use the drag winch, wouldn't it be easier just to rotate the boom towards the front of the truck (on top of the cabin) and pull with the winches of the boom.

I know it's not an ideal way of pulling, but, if you're using the rotator, why don't rotate the boom over the cab, you won't be sitting backwards on the freeway.
