Just to clarify, the small slot/tray in the center console just behind the charging pad/sliding cover is not a "pen" holder. It is made to hold multiple phones (driver and passenger) or even a small tablet. The slot holes in the bottom allow you to run the plug wire through the hole and still plug in your devices without having wires everywhere. This then allows you to keep the sliding door closed which I do 99% of the time.

I’ve run ford at work for a long time. They are the best trucks. The problem that all the trucks have anymore are all the emissions crap the government makes them put on. Emissions Sensors have become the number one problem on newer trucks. I know there’s new emissions regulations going into effect in ‘27 so I’ll be buying a new work truck in ‘26. If the battery thing becomes mandated I’ll buy a new pickup and work truck the last year they’re available and when they’re done, I’m done. Not using a battery work truck, I’ll retire

Got the 2023 lariat 350 dually. The tailgate will drop with the key fob and button on dash but won’t self close with the fob or button. Guess I didn’t get the option to close??!! Also each time I get into the truck and start it I have to reconfigure the dash. Any idea why it won’t stay one just one screen. These trucks have lots of options and so far they have even baffled the local service departments on how they operate. Maybe too much technology?!

Hard to say what’s too much technology, but it definitely doesn’t surprise me that a service dept wouldn’t be the experts. I’m 99% sure that tailgate doesn’t close itself on its own, though. It can just open up. What are you trying to do to the dash cluster? Like which screen are you trying to bring up? I would think that should persist through a power cycle.

I have seen several other videos showing using the fob and or the dash button will raise and close the tailgate. Even the online owners manual say they will close. Nope sorry to say each and every time I get into the truck I have to set the “what I want to see” again. The basic tach and Speedo are there but the info between them needs to be re-set.

Great tutorial on the tech. Thank you for the review. I have the 23 F350 Lariat Ultimate Tremor and a 24 F350 Platinum Tremor on order. I wish it came with the tailgate down camera but unfortunately only King Ranch, Platinum and Limited get the full power tailgate that opens and closes with the fob/dash button and tailgate down camera. IMO that tech should be offered in all trims or at least offered as an option for XLT and Lariat.
