Battle of the Titans-to answer- is One BETTER than the other? The Plow truck runs a Hiniker 9'2" V plow PLUS 16' Boss Back plow AGAINST a 74Hp ASV 2 speed skid steer with a 15' arctic sectional pusher. 3 contests in 3 different kinds of lots evenly divided.

Amazing how far we have come with snow removal technology. The ASV with the Arctic Sectional is awesome and the truck with the Back Plow is as well. The winner has to be the truck with the Back Plow just because of the mobility. As fast as you can drive to a site, you are on it. Like I said amazing, I had to watch to the end without a break.

I’ve been plowing with a front western ultra mount 8’6” fix blade with 18” “fixed wings” and back drag for 20+ yrs, or at least since they were made, used an old Titan loader with 3yd bucket with ProTech 22’ pusher early in my career (‘96?) , (I worked at ProTech making the ProTech pushers, here in Rochester NY. Before my landscaping/snow career started). I ran an Arctic Sectional for the first time this year, Lowes parking lot has a 6hr scope, with a pickup/v plow citing in. My first to times out it took every bit of the 6 hrs+. I have been studying using your videos as well as others. My labor/operator hrs went from 6-8hrs a run, to tonight’s run at 2-1/2 hrs solo with no help for cut in 1/24/22. This obviously followed the 30hr 6 full pushes during the storm of 1/17-1/19/22. Thanks for the great info and videos. The competition you guys have is great. For labor hours and for team morale. Hoping to move up the management chain , and start implementing more stuff like you do!

Hey Stanley. I live in Northern Mn. Up by Grand Rapids. My plow rig. (new to me this year) is a Polaris 550 Sportsman EPS with a Boss V- XT 5'6" ATV plow. Use to have a Polaris sportsman 500 with a Polaris straight plow. Since getting the Boss plow I have cut my plowing time almost in half. It is also a lot easier on the old body, (61 yrs old). I no longer have to keep getting off the wheeler to adjust the blade. So far the best investment I have made. Love your videos watch them all the time.

Don't know why but reminds me of my dad plowing. He always plowed like it was a race. He had a 75 f100 4 speed. He would actually shift into 2nd gear plowing snow at times. He get close to the snowbank he would push the clutch in while raising the plow to bank the snow. It was so fluid he would be able to raise the plow and wouldn't be even at a dead stop and already have it in reverse. Then it was haul butt backwards to go again. He did that with that 75 for 20 year's. I know someone might say he had to have replaced the clutch. Well nope he never did it went to the junkyard with 213,000 miles on it same clutch for 20 years of course not much left of the clutch.

Nice. Cutting down from 9 equipment hours (2 x 4.5) to 3 1/2 hours on one piece of equipment (that I'm assuming is less expensive, hour for hour vs a skid) on a job by a switch in plow equipment. That has to do wonders for both your bottom line on that job, and your ability to keep that job by being even more competitive on the price.

As I watched this video for some reason I thought about one of the first videos I watched from you. You were marble painting your kitchen because your guys were out plowing and you said you don't sleep while they are out plowing! I don't remember if I ever went back and saw the final product!

Stanley when I went to the ER a few years ago. we got 8 inches in about 4 hours. not crazy but crazy for my area. and the ER that I was in, there was a dude all night long on an ATV with a plow and salt just BOOKEN it all around the campus for hours on end plowing the sidewalks and driving areas.

at hospitals its zero tolerance so they start when it starts snowing and finishing after all the snow has stopped and everything is cleared- they can't allow accumulations in hospitals- in general. But each place has their own code Im guessing.

To me it seems like the skid loader was a lot cleaner than the truck was, im not sure if that was the back drag edge or if its just a cutting edge difference between the two blades. But if it were me I would rather have and run a skid loader with that box than a pickup, it seemed faster in the corners and the fine detail work whereas the truck was better straight away. Great comparison.

Do you guys have to put the snow only at one end of the lots? Looks like it takies forever to push it all over the place instead of putting it in piles where it sits

Now that you have been running these plows for a few years, have you noticed that using it is wearing out the trucks, as far as suspension and body rot, any faster than normal?

I would still need both.. as one operator. 2 miles of single lane roads that are half parked in and then a storage facility with wide aisles. Still better no matter what over the 1996 dodge fisher and a Gehl 8625 with a smooth blade bucket. I wish I had these!

@@Dirtmonkey honest as hell.. I need the truck with the new Z back plow. I can use my Gehl for super cleanup.. and I have the 8' snowblower ... Just wish the Gehl had two speeds and a higher hydraulic rate.
