In today's video Trent Jr arrives on the scene to a fully loaded semi that is just buried in the sand. It is so bad the fuel tank is resting on the tank. As Trent Jr finds out, this pull is going to take a little thinking to overcome this hard pull! Watch how he struggles a little bit but overcomes in the end

Q:What camera do you use?
A: I use the Go Pro Hero 7 Black Edition primarily. Often times you will see auxillary cameras in use. Those cameras include The Go Pro Hero 6, Hero, and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
Q: How big Is your rotator?
A: It is a 50 ton Miller Industries Vulcan 950
Q: Does the carriage slide back like Ron Pratt's?
A: No, the carriage doesn't slide back due to strict weight laws in California. The sliding carriage will make the truck to heavy in CA
Q: Why do you only have 3 winches on the rotator?
A: Comes down to weight again as stated above
Q: How many trucks Does Plaza Towing have?
A: Currently more than 30
Q: Why must the driveshaft be removed to tow a vehicle?
A: When vehicles are not running the transmission is not receiving circulating lubricant. If the driveshaft is left installed, the transmission, which is not receiving lubricant, is still spinning. This allows it to get very hot which eventually will cause major damage to the transmission. Therefore, removing the driveshaft completely eliminates the transmission from spinning. Simply leaving it in neutral is not sufficient since the transmission still spins in neutral.

Those wood blocks in front of tires are hurting it giving to much resistance
@plazatowing
@plazatowing 4 жыл бұрын
Negative, the Resistance they create is offset by the resistance they mitigate by raising the frame/fuel tank off the ground. Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you for watching!

Assuming you are correct that extra force required to lift the wheel up onto the blocks is well worth the effort to prevent damage to the truck and a possible fuel spill. The operator has no idea what is under those tanks his best bet is get them out of the sand as quickly as possible.

Could have put the rubber pads in the ditch to get the trailer a little higher. but you got it out without major damage and the truck was wrecked beforehand anyway... just look at that bumper, good call to make sure you dont have to pay for all the damage that the truck already had.

I think filling the hole with sand would have required a lot of shoveling, but even worse, it would have been softly piled sand that is not compacted and given the weight of the trailer, the tires would have sunk right into it as if it wasn't even there.

Gotta love it when drivers will not follow simple directions. I used to deal with pulling them out all the time when I worked in a mine. If they did not listen and worked against the CAT 980 loader I just pulled them anyway and if anything broke it was on them. That thing had twice the pulling power in weight as there whole trucks weighted. most the time a bump was all that was needed.
