The whole reason these big carriers can survive is because of people like you. You pay for their expenses and they pay you 65 cents a mile. Now if everyone was an owner op these big companies would be forced to shutdown and the owner ops would be running the show. We would all be running less and making more . People don’t understand how toxic it is to work for a company . You’re ruining it for everyone else with your cheap labor .

I don’t take cheap freight and I don’t have money to buy my own truck yet, which is my dream to do some day. I work for my dad who pays way more than what company drivers make . And also when you get your CDL you have to start somewhere. Buying a truck as soon as you get your CDL is a recipe for disaster. Also buying a truck with no back up plan of it breaks down is also a disaster.

Yes I know . At that time no one wanted to take a truck over 10 years old to lease on to . And those that did , didn’t have a trailer for me to use or rent and me getting married was not going to go into debt when I was already in debt. I had to count my loses and try to start fresh . Which unfortunately I still am doing . That’s what happens sometimes in life. Currently my Dad pays me well and still wishing to own a truck some day. Also on side not I should have just kept my Volvo until I would have eventually found a company to lease on to or saved up for a trailer. Also if your wondering the company I was leased on to when I had the Volvo didn’t have good lanes for me to make money and operate my truck.

Automatic transmissions have made truck drivers a dime a dozen. Companies are going to get picky. The industry can and will be mostly run by interns. 12k a year. Just enough for food, shelter, and health care

Hyperbolic much? 20 bucks an hour to work at McDonalds mean 38K is base and NOT 12K. Also, the standard of interns making no money or very little is OVER. Interns want going rate pay otherwise they can just work fast food. So, let's keep it real here. Eddie is correct. Now is the time to buy those assets while the price is low due to closures and park it.
