I took a load from Navajo today and they told me it was 15k lbs. When I finally got there (aft 120 mi deadhead) The shipper kept loading my trailer much more than I thought was 15k. So I stopped him and asked what the weight will be. He said you're getting 38040 lbs. I told him I was told 15k. He asked if I wanted the load. I said my truck is getting old and I don't haul over 30k lbs. So I told him to take it off the trailer. I left. We emailed the broker for a TONU for LYING and telling us it was 15k lbs!! I will NEVER haul for Navajo again. And getting a hold of them is like ,,, YEAH RIGHT!!

We were seeing base rates (Fuel Surcharge not included) at 2.89 in 2021, base rates went down to 2.59 in 2022, 2.49 in 2023, and 2024 went down to 2.39. Texas passed a bill requiring Mexican (and hopefully Canadian too, I think) CDL holders to get work visas. Hopefully, a federal bill to the same effect will pass. Who knows how many truck drivers from all over the world have Mexican CDL's and are trucking all over America, breaking our cabotage laws. We need to impose prison sentences on those driving trucks in America with Canadian and Mexican CDL's who are citizens of neither nation. Also, prison for those who operate without CDL's, and for cabotage violators. I think most of our over capacity problem is due to these criminals.

Instead, as long as you are even in bad market empty before 1pm, you still can risk it. And ask for more rates.
@danf697519 күн бұрын
Rejections are up because we're still running on sentiment because of the election and Carriers are in the negotiation time for new contracts. It's an artificial boost to rejections and happens every eight or 12 years. The fact is, so many carriers are going under that have lots of trucks, that people are buying used equipment including shippers who are opening their own Driver fleet pulling capacity. Also you have the problem with the deal between JB Hunt and BNSF and Schneider and BNSF.
@icrewheloso858818 күн бұрын
You can say that again. JB Hunt and Schneider are low balling everything. Plus they are trying to get more over the road loads. They can not reload their containers so they just sit in vendor yards for months at a time. They probably have the same deal with Union Pacific as well.
@SMD-i3v16 күн бұрын
Shippers are not going to expand into shipping their own loads ever. If this was profitable and manageable for them, they would have done it a long time ago. The trucking industry wouldn’t even exist by now. Shippers don’t want to deal with whole headache that comes with maintaining your own trucks, paying drivers, and staying up with all the regulation. Also big trucking companies like JB hunt would be out of business for now if it wasn’t for the government supporting them with your tax dollars. Thank both Trump and Biden for this. Good Evening, Well one thing is certain, I know I started driving in 96’. The other that is certain in my mind is, Starbucks has joined the toughest group of workers in America; that is the tough folks at McDonald’s. You see Starbucks also decided to walkout this week and join Amazon workers. I never thought after all these years, truck drivers would be considered weaker than, well, most other industries. Just imagine a McDonald’s or Starbucks worker having to give two hours free this morning and then another two hours free this afternoon. We all know there would be a lawsuit filed quickly and settled even quicker. I’ve learned over the many years, drivers talk and that’s it period end of story. Your barista now has more balls than most of us out here driving a truck. Look I’m tired just like everyone else, you’re free to think what you’d like, honestly just imagine how they look at us daily; the baristas have more cajones than all of us out here. Merry Xmas.

IF Trump opens up the US oilfields up to full capacity and IF American oil producers decide that oil prices could jump due to middle east terrorist and a collapse in Russian production, a lot of trucks will leave the general freight market and head out to haul sand, water and oil/gas finished products. Biden's slowdown of the oil fields has driven a bunch of those trucks into general freight. That could be a big capacity shift in general freight. Enough to flip the market as long as the economy holds up. The other big question mark: how long will China remain a viable manufacturing center? Their economy is in huge trouble. If they collapse we'll need a big domestic building boom to replace the sources of stuff lost when China goes all Mad Max. And yes, it's "when", not "if" China goes spectacularly screwed up. Final wildcard: does China try and eat Taiwan to stave off collapse? Now we've got a global depression 'cuz not enough serious chips...
@richtrujillo-hl8bo18 күн бұрын
i do believe that will happen taking Taiwan in order to save there economy 💯
@1jimmarch18 күн бұрын
@richtrujillo-hl8bo Thing is, *it won't*. China will utterly collapse if the whole planet's economy hits a depression. Which is guaranteed if we have a five year shortage in serious chips. It's gonna suck for everybody from America to Zimbabwe, China definitely included. Which is also why, if China tries to float over to Taiwan, they're going to be hit with an amazing collection of long range anti ship missiles. And if they do manage to land on Taiwan, well, if Taiwan is smart they're building an absolutely ridiculous collection of drones that would give Zelenskii a fatal hard-on :). In case you're not aware: the main chip fabs are in Taiwan but most of the tech *and technicians* are from Europe and America. *The chip making machines can be remotely disabled.* And the moment it looks like China is about to get froggy, all those ex-pat techs keeping it running will boogie on out of there, because they'll be needed once the new fabs start in the US and Europe in five or so years. And they're not going to want to end up in Chinese prison camps trying (and failing) to make chips under armed guards lacking offshore tech and materials. In other words, even if this goes 100% China's way, even if the US totally rolls over, it's all fucked. That's why the US will stop them.

Somewhat confused if we are at an all-time high for oil production in the United States at this very moment, how is it been slowed and how do you think that pumping more oil out of the ground when you have no refinery capacity to do anything with it is going to help. Simplistic approach to a much more complex problem that started with a negotiation with OPEC from Trump during the Covid pandemic to slow production because people weren’t driving and is now hammering the hell out of the United States oil market. Unfortunately, China has a bigger global impact on export goods globally than we do and also controls many of the natural resources needed to bolster. Mega manufacturing in the United States. Tariffs will only exacerbate this issue, and we are going to go into a global depression, which will not help.

Just think deferents you will spend your money witch you already pay taxes so if you spend your money 500$ you should generate 1000 of clean income if you will not do that you not make any money because from 1500$ you will lose 12 % - diesel and taxes 30% and truck maintenance 100$ so 500 mile is cost 1600- 1800$ if you will take less you work for free

Here’s the question we need to be asking ourselves. What is the coming catalyst in the market that’s gonna make everything all better? Is the housing market going to catch fire again? The Fed said last week that they are not as optimistic about cutting rates as aggressively as they were before. Is the car market about to catch fire again? Cars are still expensive as hell. I tried to buy one this weekend and I was literally $15,000 from buying that car! The car market feels frozen to me. Eventually these markets are going to have to pop but I don’t know what it’s going to take and I sure don’t see trucking turning a corner without at least one of those two markets coming to life. But I could be wrong

I always watch all the videos that u make and I really appreciate what you do But I really think we need someone like you with a lot of followers or like muthatrucker to bring us together for a strike I think you should make a video that to ask the drivers to become together and set a day for a strike and see what their respond to that maybe you should ask them if we can get atl east 100,000 drivers to agree then we can set a date to do this And if that happens we should ask for a lot better rates wherever we go in the country we don't wanna deal with going to Florida with ok money and coming out of losing Rates should be all close to each other wherever you go in the country And 2nd thing we should ask about is dropping the fuel prices Enough is enough It only took 2 or 3 days for the ports employees to strike and they got what they want Could you imagine what can we do if we strike And I don't care who's the money coming out of if it's the broker or the customer I don't care I really believe people who got followers like you could make a difference I've been 22 years in this business and I've never seen anything like the last 2 years I really think you should make that video and ask drivers if they're willing to do it or not it doesn't hurt to ask or try Thank you very much

Driver, I appreciate your view on low rates and getting all the truckers to come together and strike. I’ve been in trucking for 22/years and the only time I’ve seen them strike was in the case of New York City for President Trump. These guys are more concerned with making money to put on the table then trying to get better rates to make the mega carrier rich that they work for. OIDA is a Far Left leaning organization that only supports the Democrats, they only care about you when it comes time to collect your dues. With all the new drivers I just don’t see them coming together to help anyone except themselves, and they don’t seem to understand how a strike will benefit them. Sorry, I just don’t see it happening.
