As a mechanical engineering project manager, I wanted to see a comparison of the diesel options, but we can compare gas models. I will break down design, performance, MPG and overall driving experience. My friend is a manger, I get to test drive these SUV's for 6 months and write a 20-page report, including foreign models I will summarize the 2o page report in about a page or two max. . We will discuss price, performance, and MPG. As far as performance goes, HP and towing, they are pretty even. As far as design goes, I love Cadillac's grill and exterior but that does not mean Lincoln's exterior and grill is horrible. The interior winner goes to the Navigator. The information system set up goes to the Escalade, but overall Navigator's black label's interior is nicer than Escalade's platinum. The primeur leather seats and luxury rival that of a Benz. Based on MPG estimate the gas on the Escalade is about 14-19 MPG or 17 combined, you get better MPG with the Navigator, and it saves you about $850 a year on the pump. I wrote that in the report for those who care about MPG. I think the Navigator gets about a mile more per gallon. Towing they are dead even 8500 lbs. The stop and go action on the Navigator is better but the Escalade has better breaks. The x factor is the price. I think the base Navigator new is about $10,000 less than the base model. The difference between the Platinum Escalade and Black label Navigator is $3000. If you do the 4 years 50% trick the black label Navigator is $100,000 out the door, my guess is the entry level about 78,000. We won't even go over the V series model; you are talking $150,000. That means you should be able to get a good used one for about $50,000 at 60,000 miles. THIS Is why you want Diessel not only you get better MPG, but you can also get it used and at half price. Most people can't afford $100,000 but we can swing $50,000. With taxes and out the door, you are talking $55,000 for the top end model. \ The other x factors are I like the information system of the Escalade, but the interior of the Navigator is really pure luxury, something that rivals a Merced's. You sacrifice some HP going to diesel. I believe the Lincoln has SLIGHTLY more HP 450 vs 420 on the base models, which is only 30 HP difference. IN 2022 Cadillac and Lincoln had a refresh and the Diessel options so I would suggest wait until 2026. You can get a 2022 Black label out the door with tax and registration for probably about $55,000 With the Platinum Escalade, you are looking at closer to 60,000 used. As for ESV and the L version for Lincoln, I only recommend it for LARGE FAMILIES. If you have Mom, Dad, the kids, and grandparents, go with the ESV OR L. if it is less than 5 people get the smaller version because it is more maneuverable. You also might run into street parking problems, you might not aways have handicap parking on the streets. Also, you get about a mile per gallon less on the bigger version which adds up. You are losing about 20 miles per tank. Keep in mind if you want to park it in the garage, the ESV or L will fit in a standard garage, but it will be a tight squeeze. Youa re talking 210 feet vs 214 feet, for a standard garage, you can notice the difference. I say go with the regular Lincoln Navigator Black Label 4 years old, and enjoy it for 10 years if you wish because it is diesel, then you can get another one. My guess is the Diessel variants will give you 15-17 city and 21-23 highway. This is why I always recommend DIESSE friends. You can't go wrong with either one and they are both on EDMUNDS top 5 list. I think the Navigator is at #2, only behind the Mercedes but ahead of the BMW X& Final verdict, get the diesel version of the regular sized black label Navigator and enjoy.

I pick up my Navigator this Saturday, and to say my anticipation is high would be an understatement. Reserve 1 Model 4x4 black on black with the luxury and illumination package. I did consider getting both the Navigator or Escalade, but ultimately decided to purchase a Lincoln. Certain features are better on certain vehicles, but Chevy and GM are really trying to screw over their customers by allowing the dealerships to charge well over the sticker prices, and the more expensive package that you order the more they overcharge you. They are a bunch of crooks.
@wildbluelaker9695 Жыл бұрын
Big time overcharge on MSRP in Phoenix area. $5-10 or $20k over, no discussion. Lincoln goes by MSRP. The No dickering. But they will get you on your trade in and make it up THERE. Reduces your taxes in the new Lincoln so it kind of becomes a split, slightly in their favor. We had a 2018 we bought in 20, and are picking up our 2023 this week. Deal was done in an hour. Scottsdale Boutique sales office is the PLACE to buy a new Lincoln. Comfortable seats, less stress on back of legs due to fine adjustments. Dial in how tight you want it to handle!!! Sporty? Softer. Ice? Snow?It’s yours. Want it to park itself? So easy - brake, let go, it directs the auto into place. Want it to back your boat into the water? Push the button - boom, straight back in. Massage seats tilt hips back and forth so reduces back and hip fatigue. Hands down. No pressure. No gimmicks. Quiet luxury and Ms Avery pulls the best espresso drinks in the Scottsdale Promenade Sanderson Lincoln Promenade showroom. Skip the coffee shop before you peruse the SUVs. Call before u go and ask what cars they have inside, and in their garage. Luxury shopping at no extra cost. Sit and ask questions in comfort. Are there issues sometimes, yes. Anytime you have this much electronics…something might need fixing. Black label service is still decent, Mercedes and Infiniti might do slightly better in Phoenix. But Lincoln picks up and delivers. Waiting area for fast oil changes is great. Personal attention. The only other SUV we considered this time was a loaded Yukon - it’s catching up fast to this level and has an interior similar to The Navigator - it’s supplemented with lithium batteries so will save some gas on trips. We decided to save money now and buy luxury we know and trust. Sequoia is sneaking up and a good option but rear seats fail to lower reducing the carload area space. Handles nicely as Toyota quality steering reins true. Navigator for us. Best quality for dollar. Road worthy trips with friends with rear center console and best in class guest seating fit for owners who allow guests to ride shotgun! Girlfriend trips? Navigator wins. Golf buddies and 4 sets of clubs? Nav or Escalade.

Great review. I had been considering this very Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum, but that Navigator looks great, and for living in the high altitude hilly mountains its twin turbo might have some advantages over the naturally aspirated Escalade. I do wish the Navigator had the Escalade's night vision feature, which is also excellent when it is very foggy out, and of course, to see Big Foot better. Just saying. Lastly, do you know what the minimum road clearance is on the Navigator? I really like the adjustable air suspension of the Escalade, giving an extra inch or two depending on what you option. Though I did learn that the Cadillac's adjustable air suspension is really just for slower speeds because apparently when you get up towards high way speeds it automatically drops back down, good perhaps for fuel mileage a tad, but on snow stormy trips as in ski country I'd rather have the extra road clearance remain even at higher speeds. Oh well. Both look great though, maybe I'd give the exterior look nod to the Caddy, and the interior look nod to the Navi. Thumbs up as always to another great review guys.

I’ve always wanted a Lincoln since I was in grade school. A Lincoln Mark III would pass me every day on my way home from school. I had no idea what it was, I just knew it was beautiful. I drew a picture for my mom, including the spare tire bulge and she told me that’s what my grandpa drove. He was an exec at Ford, and I couldn’t wait for his next visit. His was brown and I couldn’t stop looking at it. I remember Ford was the first to offer a luxury SUV, and everyone in Hollywood was driving them. I still prefer the Lincoln over the Cadillac. The Lincoln isn’t too gimmicky looking, the Cadillac looks like a storm trooper helmet staring at you in the rear view mirror.

Great reviews. Comparing the Lincoln's interior which is a big part regarding purchasing one of these large luxury SUVs. IMO. The Lincoln has the more impressive interior. From your review. I'm a big fan of the Lincoln's interior layout. The Lincoln seats look thicker and more comfortable than the caddy. The caddies 2nd row seats looks thin with less padding while the Lincoln's looks like lazy boy leather recliners and this isn't the Top Line Black Label model. The Lincoln's exterior looks more stately and proves an EcoBoost turbo V6 can do the job moving this penthouses on wheels. If I was in the market for one of these luxury SUVs. It would be the Lincoln.
@buckstarr68422 жыл бұрын

Nice video! I have one of each...Escalade and a Lincoln. They are both great, similar packages. I give the nod to the GM product. It's a bit wider, and overall just feels like a more solid vehicle, very heavy duty with the Cadillac ride and ellegance. If we went by MSRP New...the Escalade is about 20% more than the Lincoln. That should speak to this topic. Even the Yukon Denali packages are overall more comfortable and larger. That's an owner of both vehicles, same year...best analysis.

I like the styling of the navigator black label. However, Supercruise is better than Bluecruise. Also, the Escalade offers the V series with the 682 hp engine.

Old looks and couch seats vs newer tech and looks……….you will loose money as soon as you drive the navigator off the lot while the caddy you can actually drive for 5k miles and sell it for more than sticker, no joke on that last part also! 🤷🏽♂️

Escalades have issues with the lifters like any other GM. The rear suspension height for cadillac Escalade looks too low to the ground and ugly. Navigator has problems with turbo and engine shafts. Great review, even better choice of baseball team! Lol. For me, the choice of these vehicles would be if 7 adults had to travel with their luggage (say executives from a company, each with their own piece of luggage). These trucks just can't be beaten, specially the longer versions. Comfort and space is a must in those circumstances. I would chose the Licoln or even a Yukon over the Cadillac for cost reasons if it were a business decision. You get the same comfort at a lower price. If I didn't have to travel long trips and I used them for getting the family around town or short trips, I think a european option is better. Better quality ride, safer, less gas consumption and less suitcases. My two cents.

From my experience with both vehicles the Escalade really is above the navigator when it comes to Technology. As for the interior and quality the navigator really feels like a true luxury truck. Unfortunately the Escalade on the interior feels more like a GMC. Driving is pretty similar, but the navigator super light steering I really prefer because it makes it feel agile. Also if you compare that Escalade to a black label navigator interior and exterior wise there is no comparison. Again I think the only thing the Escalade has is the technology advantage.
