@@repairvehicle I know. Foreign concept. But there are also people who swap vehicles every 2-3 years. I’m still rocking my 07 5.3L because it’s been great for me. I don’t want to “upgrade” and have a truck that stays in the shop. Creature comforts can be nice but I can’t do it. It’s about time for me to get a new one but the success I’ve had makes me hesitant to start over.

I agree with Glenn, do a 100 percent. Do a restoration on one of your trucks with upgraded parts and bingo. Brand New old truck. No truck payment and no unnecessary EPA garbage like Def. Also the new ones have so much more electronics. New or old they can still break. If you do get a new one, go with Duramax, you are more familiar with them than any other brand or a Ford. I had a 17 F-350 dually And used it for hotshot services and it was a great truck. Wanted a GM truck, but no one had one at any dealerships. No matter what, do what you think is best for your family. If you do a ton of towing get a dually. Be cool to see a dually on your channel.

My 2005 LLY duramax, bought new, and still running with no replaced injectors or glow plugs, has about 650,000 miles. I turn my own wrenches. It has a Air Dog raptor 4G lift pump and Yes a lot of things have had to have work done. I replaced the water pump because your videos and others helped me gain the confidence to dig a little deeper. recently it would blow the ECM fuse and I got towed home 6 times before I found two wires with insulation missing. Now its somewhat reliable again. I hear what you are saying about a new truck. A 76 year old Vietnam vet, partially disabled.

Dont do it!!! Put the new truck payment $600-1000 into savings for 6 months, then fix everything u can think of on your duramax. Your truck will be super reliable and then you are done making new truck payments after 6 months. Old school for life lol!! Love your vids!

I had a 2007.5 LBZ and bought my LML in 2016, all the bad parts have finally fallen off. I love the LML. Wish I still had my LBZ but it’s nice to have the Bluetooth and apple CarPlay and other new technology. I do feel like it’s got more pep than the LBZ but I have done a lot more to the LML.

My trans in my 01 cummins would always "hunt" between 40-55 mph. Thought eventually it would go....... Literally hooked up a wire from the passenger side battery negative terminal and grounded it to the firewall, never had an issue again! Hope someone with an old cummins finds this useful!

All 3 of the platforms are great trucks, they all also have their own issues. But in my opinion as a tow rig id say a cummins dually, and a nice size gooseneck, then you can pull around 2 vehicles. And pull the camper like nothing. Basic upgrades to it and just run it as a tow pig. Also if i make it to Wisconsin id like to go side by side with ole red. See the actual comparison to my truck.

I have a 16 lml will never regret my choice. Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Made a 4500 mile trip from Jacksonville NC to whidbey Island Washington while pulling a 36 ft 12000 lbs 5th wheel with 0 truck problems.

I bought a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD LML back in October for 41k. 80k miles 4 door with a 20k hitch with the rails in the bed for a 5 wheel or goose neck. It was the only truck that got the bill I could find used. Had to seat 6, be a crew cab and diesel.

5th gen cummins! A 2021 would be "ideal" because they went back to the CP3 but every make/model has their horror stories. I have a 2019 "5th" gen and i love it. I add fuel treatment every fill up for added protection for the cp4 but to each their own. Can't beat the new ram interiors either

You dont have to take those gofer clips out of the cooler fittings. Just look at the cooler lines that are tapered. Just lube and push them in..

Heck no don’t change it up!! I have a 2007 gmc Duramax and it has over 225,000 miles on it and I haven’t had to do anything to it other then routine maintenance items!! Absolutely the best truck ever that I have had!! Plus I just got back from a 2500 mile road trip and everything went well!! Plus I was even pulling a big big live in horse trailer and still got 18 mpg!! Not bad if you ask me!!! If you’re going to pull a trailer with your new truck I’d definitely go with the Duramax heck just put the upgrades to the front end and they are bullet proof!!!

A no bus issue is usually a bad ground or a bad spot on the ecm.. there's a place in southern illinois punches a hole in it. Fixxs it and programs it and sends it back for 200 bucks.. google it.

I'm about to sell my '13 duramax,but only because I'm sick of putting more $$$ in maintenance and repair than I made.My next 1ton WILL be a cummins.It will NOT be a new one, even if I had cash to pay for for it before driving it off lot.Older rides cost less to insure,simpler to fix,and the aftermarket is offering low cost upgrades.Absolutely no chance a sales rep can run fast enough to sell me a new vehicle of any kind!!! They'll say,"Oh,but look at the latest features and fuel mileage", reliability".Buy used,tune it, upgrade it,and save $$$ big time!These sales reps are selling lies more than anything and padding pockets.

If you want to do some thing with that 6.0, my old truck got stolen but I found it getting parted out on facebook. The engine is still good, but I couldn't get it back since insurance paid out, its at the auction right now and I can give you the stock number. I had it built by Dirty Dales Diesel Performance and it was bored .20 over, had an entire fuel system, oringed heads, head studs, and much more. I have receipts and stuff too if your interested. I just want my truck to have a new life, the engine at least, and I think it would be cool to know that the engine I spent all that money on go to a good home 👍

Honestly I would decide between an '17-'19 l5p (You get a real built Allison trans) a '15-'16 LML (it's a little cheaper) or a fifth gen ram high output cummins with the Aisin transmission (honestly I love the body style and has the best interior) and look for the pros and cons for all three of them. for the engine the 1 ton doge the the cummins ho but for l looks height the silverado medium duty which consists of 4500 5500 and 6500 had im 6 foot 4 and the side mirror is level with the top of my head the duramax is a lil more weak but with a few tweaks you could change that

I own a lbz with 108k bought it with 26k 4” straight pipe efi live now have a wye fab egr delete kit for it and plan to do a lift pump. Love my truck. My son has the same truck except early 06 that needs head gaskets now with 160k but his was modified early in life and has been thrashed on a lot more than mine I’m 61 and want this truck to last the rest of my life

Use a fuel additive and add a lift pump when you can it will add a lot of life to the injectors. They’re about 4K to replace. Straight pipe and edge tuner will wake it up cheers
